Actually if it's a signal at all, it's not straight, because it implies leaving an ambiguous hint for you to figure out. A straight thing she could say would be "do you want to take me on a date?" Or "I want to spend time alone with you." That's straight. And of course men would prefer this after getting to know the girl a bit. Saves a lot of trouble.
