Yeah, OP's post is about the 1997 film, not the 2014 film.

So I'm curious, when people say they are working out for aesthetics and not bulkiness, I thought that aesthetics lifting i.e. bodybuilding(8-10 rep range) is what made you bulkier, hence the hypertrophy of your muscles? I thought that strength training is purely for efficiency and making your muscles better at working and not necessarily better looking. So you might not look as strong as a bodybuilder, but can ultimately outlift his bulky, less efficient muscles since your CNS and muscles are tr…

Think about it for a second... This is an adult, and her first reaction to being confronted with and made to own up to her actions is to just cry and get some sympathy? I get it if it's worked for her in the past, but damn, the only way people will ever actually be equal is if we don't treat women like giant, inconsolable toddlers one second and then give them the respect reserved for adults the next. She's not sad, she's just upset they didn't buy her bullshit story about balloons and immediately let her through when she brought out the crocodile tears. It looks like she probably wasn't even thinking about her made up story anymore and it took her a second to realize what the balloons were even for, the gesture meant nothing to her. She can't even look him in the eye once she realizes he's talking about her lie.

Seems pretty simple to me. If there was a pill that gave you all these benefits, you'd take it in a heartbeat, but as soon as people realize you need to put in effort ~5 hours a week, some turn their nose up at it. They act like they're too good for it, or don't need it, or it's too hard. If people said the same thing about the pill equivalent then you'd look at them like they were idiots, like they are for refusing the benefits of exercise.
