This thread is about leniancy for women. Ok, sure, that's a fine topic to discuss. It's just too bad that this article is about leniency for white women and doesn't mention gender at all. If you take a look at the edit to my original comment maybe you will see what I mean. I just don't want to be a group that is so quick to take offense to every.single.little.thing. We alienate the people who are in the middle when we do that and it's just not a good look, in my opinion.

Do you not realize the identical comparison between our movement and the feminist movement? Once the radical feminists came in and overpowered all the well-meaning ones, their movement turned evil. If there's one thing we know it's that history repeats itself and I for one would rather learn from the mistakes feminists have made rather than mimic them and suffer the same fate. Up to you. (Go ahead, tell me again to go back to /r/relationships, 3 times wasn't enough so I'd like to know how you re…

Wow, I didn't realize that people like you existed in this sub and in this movement. It's sad, but the same thing happened to feminism. What may have started out as a good cause years ago has turned evil ever since they began to eat their own.

What is wrong with you, dude? You just repeated the same exact thing 2x, which again has nothing to do with this discussion. How does this article have anything to do with women being treated more leniently than men? It doesn't. I'd almost guarantee that a white man of similar attractiveness and with similar connections to law enforcement, would have the EXACT same "punishment." If you want to flip it around and bring race into the equation then maybe you have a point. We need to pick our battle…

Men have plenty of things to be upset about and to fight for, this issue is not one of them. I'm all for a good circle jerk every now and then but taking offense to this article, as a MRM, is akin to a feminist being upset if it were written about a white man. In that case we would be blasting them for sticking their nose into something that has nothing to do with them. We can't have it both ways, and if that's what you guys want then maybe the definition of MRM is not what I thought it was. ETA…

Ok, sure...but then it's a racial issue, not a Mens Rights issue. We can't take every article and spin it in a way to be offended, if we do that then we are no better than every feminist out there.

This has nothing to do with Mens Rights... ETA: For the record, and you guys can down-vote me all you want, I do believe that there is an underlying issue with prison sentences between men and women for various crimes, that is not what I'm disputing. If this was an article about that, with references and sources and a discussion about the topic then I'm all for it. But I won't just open up any article that has anything to do with a woman and automatically start going on some kind of brigade abou…

If Men Owe Women Chivalry, What Do Women Owe Men? CHILDREN. It's that simple, our species evolved to this point because men and women pro-created together to have children. We cared for women while they had our children, what the ever loving fuck is wrong with that??? Women are choosing feminism over evolution these days and it's pretty damn scary.

Alright, I got ya, I'm going to continue to be kind to everybody I encounter in my life, man, woman, old, young, black, white, purple, etc. I just don't understand why we put the needs of ourselves so far above the needs of everybody else. Are you speaking in a broader sense of the human race's needs to continue surviving as a species This one. We are just mammals who were put on this earth to propagate our species, and with that comes great responsibility. Whether or not the population on this …

Haha, I'm trying here man! Luckily I'm not in a commission based position, nor do I have to really deal with any females on a day to day basis besides casual office politics. Though, that being said, most of the females that I have come across in my line of work have been nothing but pleasant and competent. That tells me that it's not all women...but more so women in specific fields where back-stabbing gets you to the top.

Am I alone here when I think they ARE entitled to our kindness? Isn't everybody entitled to everybody's kindness? Screw radical feminists and their hatred, but they win when we get angry. We can't raise our kids to hate women, we need to raise them to love everybody. It's our only defense unless we want a legitimate gender war...and I hate to say it but we need women and women need men, no matter what this generation has been led to believe. Keep your heads screwed on straight people, let's not …

I'll never forget the last argument I had with my ex as our relationship was ending. She just keep rattling off things that I was doing wrong when I finally asked her, "what do you do for our relationship?" She couldn't come up with ONE thing. So I tend to agree with you to a point...but I also think you're taking it too far. You are letting them poison your heart and all you're seeing is red. Haha, great point, thank you for that. Extreme feminists are making themselves extinct right before our eyes. It's unfortunate that we are bearing the brunt of their hatred, but hey, better us than our kids. You just made my afternoon.

Seriously, why can't we all be on the same side fighting for happiness and equality? Why are we on opposite sides throwing shit at each other? This whole movement is fucked up and I can only pray our grandchildren learn from our mistakes.

Ha, I was actually going to quote that exact thing but instead of criticize you I was going to thank you. So...thank you. If attaining equality is possible we all need to work together to reach that goal.

This is my third reply in this post, and I'll try to make it my last...but I'm fucking outraged!! Light blue is the fucking color for prostate cancer, correct? What is stopping these "women" from wearing that? Hell they could even get creative and make little moustache necklaces or wrist bands. We do that bullshit for them. Nope, much more feministic to sit behind a keyboard and spew hatred all over the world.

Fuck. It took me to the second page of the article to realize I'm wasting my time. I'll post anyway but, Jesus... you just can't even with these people. I just want to say, your time is not wasted. Thanks for putting into words what many of us are thinking. But ya know what? Fuck everybody who is anti-anybody. Let it out man, this article is a complete and utter disgrace. Do these fucking idiots not realize that sperm helped CREATE them? I must be some kind of moron but unless we want the future to be born into test tubes us men and women better start living for each other rather than against each other. Fuck. I'm sorry for your loss.

That sounded way too intelligent to hold anybody's attention who disagrees with it. I can already see the look on their faces while reading (if any of them happen to open it), "blah, blah, rapist, blah, I hate men, omg, lulz, blah."

AAUW officials are trying mightily to sustain the bad-news-for-women narrative This right here is the major issue. How could a women's group be upset with their own success?? I can't even handle the hypocrisy, irony, complete lunacy, or whatever else you want to call it.

I actually spend most of my time on reddit in /r/relationships for this exact reason. I'm definitely not always right, hell I may rarely be right, but I'm always trying to offer a different perspective and opinion in a completely female-dominated subreddit. To be honest, the way I found men being treated in there was the inspiration for me to subscribe to /r/MensRights.

men will even look at eachother's penises for comparison in the restroom Um, what? I was with you until that point. Do gay dudes look at other dude's dicks in the bathroom? That kind of makes me uncomfortable to be honest.

For sure man, I completely agree with all of that. I'm not saying to execute the kid, I'm just saying that it's probably a good idea to start thinking about putting measures in place to discourage this type of behavior. I guess my comment was more referring to the act in general, it's really unfair to punish a kid for doing something he didn't know was illegal in the first place.

I compare underage drinking to underage sexual activity, I don't really have a problem with it in the right situation. It's fine to experiment and if you experiment at a young age then you're usually better off when you grow up. But I compare taking nude pictures when you're underage and sending them out to an illegal act you committed while drunk. It's just not a good idea to have naked pictures of you floating through peoples' cell phones and the internet, especially when they are considered c…

You're right, lets just completely remove all laws, rules, policies, etc. Also, I don't really like your analogy, in most European countries there is no drinking age and in my limited experience people are much more responsible because of it. There is no precedent for sending out nude pictures because this is the first generation able to do so, it's going to take time to figure out how to properly handle it.

As long as you're against the drug policy then that's fine. I think people who are 16 are too young to make responsible choices in many aspects of life, hence why 18 is when you become an "adult." Looking back, and this wouldn't have been a good idea to me when I was younger, but you shouldn't even be an "adult" until you're 21 or 25. Kids these days have access to things that kids in my generation could only dream about, it makes sense that the laws are adjusted accordingly.

There was an article that I think was posted here a few weeks ago about the ERA, Equal Rights Act, and how it has never been legislated. One of the main reasons why was because of a womens' group called STOP (Stop Taking Our Privileges). I'm 100% in favor of equal rights and accountability, but it seems as though a lot of feminists just want the rights.

I just posted this comment in the other thread about the 16 year old girl dealing with a similar situation: Taking nudes of yourself is something that many many people regret when they get older, it should be illegal to take them and send them before you're old enough to know what the hell you are doing. I don't think this particular girl should be punished, but she should be used an example of what the punishment could be for this type of offense.

Seriously man, I completely agree. I'm an admittedly predictable person, and maybe that makes me boring. But doesn't that also make me a dependable and reliable partner and father? I used to think it did but apparently that's not the case. Oh well, travelling and golfing it is.

If you would have told me that I would be 30 years old with an above average salary, a degree in the field I am working in, no credit card debt, minimal student loan debt, solid relationships with friends and family, living alone in a full house within 2 miles of the center of a major US city, and I still wouldn't be good enough for women in my peer group I just wouldn't have believed it, absolutely no way. I completely agree with you. While I would look like an absolute fool in a summer dress it's pretty damn ridiculous that we are still required to wear pants no matter the season. This is like the women who were upset that Minions were all guys because they were stupid. They completely ignore the actual issue and instead frame it in a way that makes them the victims. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Honestly, I used to love being chivalrous and a gentleman. But what's the point anymore? Women don't respect men so why should men respect women?

The irony in that article is awe inspiring. She has literally pin pointed the exact reason we are at this point in our society yet somehow she is completely blind to it. Pretty good example of what we, as men, have to deal with on a day to day basis.

I'm all for equal rights and equal opportunities, absolutely, and I think that is something all MRA's and feminists can agree on. The problem arises when equal accountability is brought up. If you want all the same rights and opportunities than you need to be able to deal with the consequences and responsibilities that come with them.

Wow, did anybody see the look in her eyes during that debate? It reminded me exactly of my ex, I just got the chills and it's 90 degrees here. His demeanor was great; smiling, reasonable, and understanding. I though he did a great job, though I'll admit my bias.

You need to get the friend who saw you in the bathroom. I suppose she could testify to Vanessa's demeanor when she walked in on you. That's your biggest asset. If you're telling the truth it would've been written all over Vanessa's face at that moment. As posted by /u/ScottFree37 I think this is the KEY here. Good luck man.

Yeah I stand corrected. Also wasn't thrilled about "male and female circumcision" turning up in my search bar at work.

What is the downside if it's done properly?? Or is the downside that it might not be done properly? Also, has anybody grown up and wish they weren't circumcised as a child? Maybe I should do some more research on the topic as I don't even know what female genital mutilation entails but this doesn't seem to be a huge deal to me. Edit: Yes, people have grown up and wish they weren't circumcised as a child. I guess I've never had that conversation before. Sorry if I offended anybody.
