I'm 15, 5'10, 150. I don't need glasses but wear them anyways, because I look better with them. Older brother, he's in college but used to be pretty popular. There's only one popular guy who makes fun of me openly, but I have the feeling others do it as well.

I mean, wrestling has more immediate benefits: better body, confidence, maybe more girls. But I feel like debate is better for my future. But you're right, I potentially could get in without doing debate. As for Yale, yeah, I'm aiming for T14 law schools. The law field is saturated, so without going to a top school, it'll be harder to get a job. And since I want to be a trial lawyer, debate is useful.

I mean, my school is extremely competitive sports wise. I've known people who've played their whole life who didn't even make the freshman teams. I guess I could try out, but not a whole lot of chance I'll make it in. I'm a national level debater.

Yes. Here's how I see it: I excel at high school debate and/or mock trial (which I am already). This means I get onto the debate and/or mock trial team as an undergrad. This looks good on law school applications while simultaneously providing me good practice for when I become a lawyer.

I would do both if I could. But practices conflict with club meetings. To be in the clubs, you need to be at all the meetings. To be in wrestling, you have to be at all the practices. So I gotta choose one.

Haha, I've wanted to be a lawyer since I was 7 and have shadowed lawyers before. But you're right, could happen. Either way, though, I feel debate is a skill applicable to real life in arguments- I feel like the average person gets into more arguements/public speaking occasions than fights, where wrestling would be useful. Would you suggest doing wrestling?

Ah. I'm kind of at a stalemate with SMV there. I've done a lot of stuff I can do by myself- lifting, improving myself- but social stuff is mostly up to other people. So I'm looking to basically fake having a higher social status to bring up my SMV further.
