0	Tyson knows This presumes that the electoral system is perfectly meritocratic, which is obviously not true. Correcting the system on behalf of women and minorities has a net positive effect on the quality of people elected because the people bumped are less qualified men/white people. And the diversity of experience improves the quality of ideas.
