Fair point and I see that I should explain further in which case. My fear regarding opportunities are on the basis of quota hiring and/or other schemes that provide preferential entry requirements for women (fire fighting being a good example of lowering entry requirements for women). For example certain corporations have an agenda to have 50% female staff. This in essence has led to certain positions being held open for women only. This is also the case of ethnic minorities in a bid to diversif…

I also align with your observations!

I fully agree and am beginning to do so regularly. It’s taken practice not to get annoyed to clear provocation when calling out such behaviour. But am getting much better at it.

Very well put.

Thank you - much appreciated 😅.

I did exactly the same for the same reasons and I too carry guilt for that. I now refer to myself as ‘equalitist’ (if that’s even a word) to deliberately demonstrate that my values towards equality continue - yet I won’t allow them to be manipulated nor biased.

I would agree. What I would also say however is that artificial hair for a women is very acceptable whereas it seems to be a source of enormous shame for a man.

Absolutely. This makes sense for so, so many reasons.

You know, it’s funny. I feel pretty much the same most of the time as what you just wrote. And yet my reaction wasn’t “yeah, you go bro, top yourself and be done with it”. For some reason, I felt compelled to highlight the good things around. Fuck knows why since I long for death most of the time myself! But reading your post brought me some relief, as in “there’s someone else that understands how infuriatingly frustrating and futile this fucking struggle is”! Maybe that’s it - maybe we just nee…

I the idea ok principle but difficult in application since another one appointed in that position would be of a particular gender and therefore potential open to certain biases. I actually think the best is to have representation of both.

Thank you kindly. Looks like I’d better get myself an X account then! I’m not sure understand what you mean by ‘equality of outcomes’. That sounds like good thing to me and sounds like what you describe in terms of everyone being treated the same. Is there a difference? Im genuinely interested. And what do you mean by an ‘out-group’. As in unpopular? Thanks.

I’m so sorry to hear that. That must have been very difficult for you. Yes, I believe that all genders are hard actually. The strange time that we find ourselves in currently is that focus is given to the struggles of particular genders whilst dismissing others. This isn’t a competition. There’s nothing to say that listening and understanding the struggles of another demographic means that the worth of your own demographic is compromised. People often wildly misunderstand my perspectives as a fo…

Thank you. What I would say is that, if you do have a boy, he would potentially be very well set up having a mother like yourself to navigate him through these turbulent times. I believe that a huge part of the issue young boys face is being taught by mothers and teachers that do not realise the damage they do. I’m sure that you’d do well in counteracting this.

Great question. I guess there’s no ‘one’ thing which worries me as such but a collection of potential situations - particularly ones that I have witnessed happen to either me or men close to me. I’m worried about my boys being in financial servitude to an ex-partner through either marriage, children or both. I’m worried about them being treated poorly by a partner through fear of losing everything they’ve worked for. I’m worried about them losing everything they’ve worked for. I’m worried about …

Thank you so much for speaking up. The world could do with more women like you. I’m currently very concerned about the world my two boys will be growing up in and how they will be treated and conditioned. I’m doing my best to counteract the indoctrinations but it’s exceedingly difficult.

Thank you all for your suggestions and engaging so fully. Really appreciated. I will look into the suggested groups with interest. For orientation, I personally based in the UK but I actually don’t think that matters. I’m more interested in these matters on a general rights basis. In the same way that good campaigns exists for education as a right for women (which I support) - I wish there to be good and unified campaigns that protect all. Men are currently left exposed and I want there to be mo…
