I honestly never felt anything positive about my pregnancy with an LVM. I was deeply ashamed. But the mentality you describe is all too common as well...

I had only been with my NVM about a year when I got pregnant but I can feel nothing but pity and sadness for her. Of course I saw red flags but to me, they were manageable or not that bad and I thought I could handle his asshole personality. I should have dumped him but when you only have yourself to worry about, you put up with more. Once I was pregnant he changed completely. He didn’t even TRY to mask. He assumed he’d caught me forever. He went from being kind-of a jerk sometimes to an abusive…

Wow... they do such sick things that if I spent the rest of my life thinking up ways to mess with another human being, I’d never come up with “lock the vibrator”. I’m so sorry. The more we put these experiences in the open, the more we can all start to heal I think. There’s so much shame involved in talking about this stuff because we think it only happened to us. I’m embarrassed that I chose such a dirt bag but the pain of saying nothing is so much worse.

It’s really scary. And they’re proud of it like they just discovered gravity or something. There’s an alleyway between my apartment building parking lot and the building itself. Technically this alley is owned by the city, not the landlord so when I had a trespass order put on a scrote, he was always standing between me and my vehicle and I couldnt do anything about it. Whyyyyy? It’s so absurd.

I just finished Evan Stark’s book on coercive control. I recommend it. It should be on the book list. I had read Why Does He Do That before my abusive relationship which definitely helped but if I had read Stark’s book in conjunction, I would have recognized the micro flags that began on day one. I would have known I wasn’t losing my mind a lot sooner. For example, I’ve always been someone that misplaced things occasionally but I didn’t realize that my ex was hiding my keys on purpose to make me…

Yeah, definitely. If he can’t keep his eyes on you because it’s summer then he’s not the one. But in terms of getting a guy you like to notice you or to motivate him to risk rejection, anecdotally, changing up my outfit just a little bit from whatever he’s used to seeing me in has worked.

Omg yes. When my 30 year old twin brother had a fight with his wife and she said some things about taking the baby, my mom got on a flight the next day and hired him a lawyer. Everything turned out fine except for now my sister in law hates my mom. People tell me often that I don’t always have to be the one who jumps up to get them something just because they said they’re thirsty or cold or whatever. Never realized I was doing that. Italian families are something

I normally never wear spaghetti straps because I just feel exposed. But if I want a guy to finally hit on me I go for spaghetti straps on a dress or shirt and it always works. It’s like they are conditioned from high school to see shoulders and get distracted haha. Try it! Wear something you wouldn’t normally but that is still classy/comfortable for you. They are simple creatures.

I wanted to call it Arbitrary Deprivations of Liberty and each month we publish safety tips, interview a badass lady, political matters related to women, and submissions about encounters with men written sort of redructress style... I think the mods are planning something like that in the future.

Check out Callisto, Lighthouse, and circle of 6. All are websites or apps already in use on college campuses to try to prevent sexual assault. I wonder if we could glean ideas from them. I think Callisto is promising but it would need a ton of funding and critics don’t like it.

We should have a magazine and write about these men in roast a scrote or cartoon form because satire isnt defamation... and women aren’t funny so men wont read a woman’s comedy magazine... it could work lol

We can also skirt defamation laws by making it a satirical publication....

I’m not trying to sound like a “show me proof” person, I believe you. I just want to learn more about attempts we’ve already made as i wasn’t aware of any. Can you elaborate on that or give me some terms to Google?

It seems like so many of us have had similar ideas about this. When you hear that domestic homicide has gone down, it hasn’t. It’s gone down for men. For women it hasn’t changed even with the implementation of the shelter system. We need something. An Underground Railroad (which is rumored to already exist but is extremely difficult to access) something. I know there are major obstacles but I still believe we can drastically improve our odds of staying safe by aggregating data and connecting wit…

I’m 30 but my family is extremely Italian and I will be treated like I’m not a full adult until I get married. If I never get married, my brothers will be given unofficial custody of me when my parents pass. It’s very important to me that my family approves of whoever I marry. But that’s why I wouldn’t marry this guy...

Yeah. At first I was crying at how sweet the video was and now I’m crying wondering why it’s so hard to find a man who would take 15 minutes to help a disabled person. I was raised to believe women with the audacity to get an education should be teachers, nurses, social workers etc and not step outside the feminine caretaking professions. I studied social work and didn’t realize I was living a joyless life due to programming instilled in me by age 5. I had never asked myself what I most wanted t…

A random topic I can’t stop thinking about for the past 2 months is: Human behavior is sometimes predictable but psychology is a soft science because it’s so difficult to repeat results reliably in a lab. Scrotastic behavior fascinates me because, even internationally, it’s remarkably unchanging and even more so for abusive scrotes. This makes me wonder if there’s a way we could use tech and data collection to stop scrotes before they happen if they are likely to rape or abuse us. My state is fa…

true story: I had a roommate once who couldn’t collect on her trust fund unless she attended college. So in an act of rich kid rebellion, she literally went to circus school and became an acrobat. Not cirque level but still... she actually used her education in her sex life. There’s at least 10 dudes walking this earth rn that probably genuinely expect cirque moves from every woman. Im cackling 😂

I never knew that! I just saw an ad for “preventative” Botox and how I should be getting it at 30 and the price keeps going down to the point where I started considering it when I’d never even thought about it before. I really believed it was basically harmless except for the rare side effects... I think you just saved me 🙏

I guess I haven’t thought about it very deeply yet because I just started seeing my first fine lines this year and that comes with the new “preventative Botox” advertising telling me that barley visible like on my forehead can go away for 50 dollars. I’m satisfied with the person I’m with so at least on a conscious level, I really do not wish to attract men and my current partner can’t even see the line. He says if it’s there I got it from worrying about it being there. I’m not afraid of aging s…

I see what you’re saying and maybe I’m just a tad narcissistic but if I could afford a couple shots of Botox just to prolong that confident feeling I get when I look in the mirror, I might do it. But too much and for the “ wrong” reasons, basically for a man is the only thing I can think of, is def unhealthy.

I just got the bill for my abortion which my insurance won’t cover and im LIVID. I’ve never been this angry. My plan for an unintended pregnancy was always adoption because I’m catholic and also never wanted an abortion. I failed to consider that ScroteFather might not be a regular chump who just gets on his horse and rides away or a rapist. That’s the narrative society told me and that’s what I planned for in advance should the worst happen. I did not realize, there are even worse things. Your …

It was more of a serendipity for the author I think. Didn’t she start it as a spin off to twilight on a fanfic forum? I can’t encourage her like I would most successful women because she gained everything she has based on the subjugation of women and profiting. It’s like feminist treason. And yes I agree, no literary value. Lolita was better and that’s about a pedophile.

50 shades of a grey, a fan fiction with zero literary merit, sold more copies than Harry Potter edit: on Amazon* . I remember feeling so confused and wondering why I was made to feel so abnormal to the point i believed the only explanation for my lack of desire to masturbate to a story of a girl my age getting beaten and raped consensually was that I must be a lesbian. I don’t think I have one close female friend who hasn’t told me she has some kind of fantasy involving force. I don’t judge them…

I thought it was super respectful when I asked my ex for STD test results and he pulled out his doctors app on his phone and showed me a clean recent test. Only when I heard the rumors that he used to sell himself did i stop to think, wtf even a green flag is a red flag sometimes

That’s the dumbest shit I ever read. I can’t even contribute anything insightful about it because it’s that dumb. But I’m so happy there are 23 year old women out there reading FDS. I wish this subreddit was around in 2010.

Holy shit. I’m just sitting here trying to write a victim impact statement against a LVM who assaulted me and I was feeling like I should ask the judge for leniency due to him being a disabled vet. I made a post about it a while ago. This was exactly what I needed to read at exactly the right time to empower me to hold him accountable. Thank you for posting it.

I was trying to scare him away and he had to flex anyway. I don’t like being approached when I’m walking and dude is in a vehicle. It makes the neighbors think I’m a hooker. So I might as well take the $100. I said he could have my number, not that I’d talk to him 🤣

Once I was at the store and blanked out for a second wondering what else I needed to get; when I realized how awkward I must have looked, I nervous smiled at a stranger by accident. As I was walking the 2 blocks back to my apartment the guy followed me in his car and asked for my number saying how beautiful my smile is. It was a nice car but I was good being single so I said “for a hundred bucks!” expecting him to drive off, but he literally stopped and pulled 100 dollar bill out of his wallet a…

We aren’t dating any longer, in my eyes anyway. Apparently he told the police we are still engaged though. I’m still dealing with getting him completely out of my life. He texted from a new number the other day and i replied with “is this new guy I recently gave my number to and he flipped out. But I’m getting there. Block and delete!

I’ve thought about making a separate more in depth post about the ordeal and what I’ve learned in retrospect in hopes that it might help someone. I’m honest about having had an abortion because I refuse to be ashamed. I don’t get why “he slammed me into a glass coffee table 2 days after I told him I was pregnant” is not considered an “endangers the life of the mother” situation. I was in extreme danger to stay and extreme danger to leave. I wish he had been the man he portrayed himself to be and…

Look out for scrotes who see money where you don’t think you really had much. This woman also has bills and knows that while her income seems high on paper, her overhead is significant too. Scrotes be like “just take out a loan against everything you own and declare bankruptcy if you can’t pay it. So what about the future? That gives us more NOW! And has no consequences for me!” In the midst of dealing with my mothers cancer diagnosis, all I could see was despair but my ex saw dollar signs. He k…

I work as a bud tender at a pot shop and I’ve noticed that guys who are daily heavy pot smokers fuck with reckless abandon and have no kids. I’ve also had friends who tried to conceive with heavy pot smokers and couldn’t but eventually ended up pregnant by another man. My female friends and customers who share children with a heavy pot smokers generally report that it took them longer to conceive. This is all anecdotal but I can’t help but feel like fertility doctors haven’t made the connection …
