That seems like a very prejudiced view. Care to explain in what way they were invented, and in what way did they oppress women? Are Abrahamic religions alike?

Are you really claiming that religion was "invented". Have you considered reading the works of Roy Rappaport on Human Ritual and Worship (anthropology). Religion was not invented, it evolved as an expression of Human condition. The fact that religious tradition is associated with roles people played in society is a reflection of the cultural and historical background over which they emerged, not a design. Have you considered people in ancient and classical, and even up until reently had differen…

Your understanding of ritual, religion and tradition is very limited. If that were the case, how would you explain the contribution of Jesuits to science during the XVI-XVIII centuries?

This is such a reductionist and limited perspective, that I don't even know what to say.

Are there any textbooks you can recommend to have an historical perspective how women-men relations evolved, what factors contributed to inequality and how widespread it was?

Fantastic advice. As I read your comment, things like photography groups, or dacing classes also came to my mind. Some cooking workshops, if you are into that. Other than that, I will keep focusing on work, studies and saving money. Thank you very much for your advice! I hope everything turns out well for you!

I am working and studying, unfortunely, I don't have to much time. The time I have left I use to workout, spend some time with my family. But it's really a short time. Meet up a friend or two for a coffee. And my friends are a little older - 30-40 yo. Any activities you might suggest? I am sorry for asking so many questions

Just to report back, she didn't answer back, but it's ok. I think that that quote "it's only once you've lost everything that you're free" really helps. You assume it's not going to work, so you try anyway. Doesn't mean you have to be an asshole or disrespectful. But, there you go. And I learned my lesson if I find myself in these circumnstances again

I am sorry I didn't follow up. I just taught about it after I arrived home. I was like "that was a nice girl, I hope I could meet her again" And because my skills are low, I tought I would better ask for insight

So what do you suggest? "Socially adept people don’t strategize and plan a month ahead of when to ask someone out. It just doesn’t work like that" What should I do, then? She's busy with work, it seemed more appropriate to try to get into contact later. I am a f****** idiot, I know... I didn't want to be some wierdo, I just ran into someone interesting, which I often do not. Sorry for this rant, comments

That’s why it’s called shooting your shot.

At that time it didn't seem appropriate. We had just met to do business. I had never seen her in person.

I recommend OP to do activities he likes. When travelling, focus on photography, as it is something you can do better alone (take time to take your shots, adjust lighting, travel to locations without being pressured by no one). Besides, keep investing and learning skills, going to workshops, study, etc. And if along the journey, he happens to know somebody interesting, that's great. If not, he'll have spent his time wisely, learning and enjoying life.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
