And due to that, advertisers/sponsors love that shit too. when you have two people who have achieved an equal level of success in some skilled activity, the woman is automatically held in higher regard than the male because society had low expectations for her to begin with. I know how every time someone says "NAWALT" it's bullshit, but what I quoted is not true in the slightest. I think the difference lies in how society views male and female deadbeats/failures. BUT, the norm these days to get promoted for most jobs is to have an undergraduate degree. If you don't have one you'll be shit out of luck if you expect to work your way up the food chain at a company.
