Ex-wife refused to work last 7yrs so that child support would be imputed at minimum wage. She was later able to convince the court that she was indigent and support was lowered to the lowest possible level. Then recently, she got a job, but somehow Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) found out and immediately began garnishing her wages. I know of one case through an acquaintance where the ex fled the U.S. rather than pay any child support for his 2 daughters. They never heard from their father again and he never paid a dime.
