I reported a hate group against women a few months ago. Guess Facebook hasn't gotten around to it yet. That's cool though, I don't mind.

I can see how that would be hurtful to men. Rape culture is, however, prevalent in our society. Women are objectified and men are taught to pursue. These are systematic social codes that create 'masculinized' men who do become rapists. With the perpetuation of the idealized 'masculine man'--an aggressive, forceful conqueror image, then that 'conqueror' will feel as though society has encouraged him to take what he wants (capitalism and patriarchy both support man's right to take what he wants, i…

I am actually entirely serious. I understand that you are coming at this from a practical point of view, but I think that your attitude accepts and ultimately permits the continuance of patterns of injustice. Do I expect to figure out how to fix the world? No. But you cannot argue with the fact that if rapists were taught not to rape (or never learned how to channel sexual violence in the first place), there would not be rapists. If programs to house the homeless existed, there would not be home…

True, but a blunt "don't do it" is at least aiming at stopping the problem from arising, rather than a "don't associate with the ones already doing it," which starts at a point of acceptance of the act deemed improper. Using the drug example, teaching reasons why some drugs are harmful is more effective than "just say no." When it comes to rape, we can choose either to continue our ineffective victim blaming society in which they ought to have known better and avoided the perpetrator, meanwhile …

"Teach men not to rape" is more than 'nice,' it's the only way to effectively stop rape from being possible. Let's not trivialize that.

Are you serious? That is something feminists say because that is TRUE. Parents need to have a session with their children on rape, the same way they would have one on murder or theft. You might think that all people agree with you and I that rape is bad, but if that were true then there would not be so many rapes committed in our world today. There is nothing wrong with raising awareness and promoting good images of people speaking out against rape and rapists. Saying nothing against rape and as…

What's wrong with that? Are you saying you don't want fathers to tell their children not to rape people? What's wrong with that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
