I knew this would be tough. But to see her immediately with another man…I was having crazy panic attacks early on. “Practicing” meditation and box breathing for the win. Still happens every now and again. One thought or memory or song or or.. It’s crazy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/26 01:21 AM
I knew this would be tough. But to see her immediately with another man…This is difficult. I still have a hard time thinking about it, for me. I’m sorry you’re going through it. It does start to get easier. Even when I feel like I’m doing ok it will hit me out of the blue sometimes. I wish you and anyone else feeling this pain, to get through it as quickly as possible. :/ | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/07/26 01:31 AM
How do I accept she’s never coming back?I think this is the hardest part for me too. Knowing they have moved on and trying to do the same but just not being ready. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/26 10:46 AM
Wife's birthday coming up. Do I send anything or stay no contact?Would she reach out to you for your birthday or special occasion? It’s difficult, as you might be used to being the guy that does those things. Do your best to stay no contact. It only hurts more when you do something nice and they don’t even acknowledge it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/26 12:59 AM
Can't do this anymoreWonderful and painful. 👍🏻 | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/06/26 07:00 AM
Chipping away. Every day. Thank you all.Keep chipping away man. I’m sure you know there will be lots of ups and downs. I also agree with the nights. So difficult at times. It takes one thought to set the spiral off. One thing I’ve read that helps sometimes. When your thoughts start to spiral try to tell yourself “not now”. It does not always work the first time or the first dozen times. But eventually.. You can always think about it tomorrow and usually it’s much easier to correct the thoughts when you have a full day ahead of you. Ke… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 10:42 AM
Men in long term marriages, what holds you back to leave your wife?Good luck man. I hope the best for you all. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/26 04:12 AM
Men in long term marriages, what holds you back to leave your wife?I’m like you, man. I don’t quit either. Especially on the woman I love. Unfortunately there is little we can do, when the other does. Sucks tbh. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/26 05:53 PM
Men in long term marriages, what holds you back to leave your wife? She is the person I would never give up on. Better or worse.. Thick or thin, sickness or health. It/marriage will never be perfect. When things are not going well, it’s time to buckle down and communicate. You fell in love for a reason. Working through the difficult times only makes the good, all the better. Might just be me but that’s who I am. I understand it takes 2, but sometimes your partner might be lost and need a reminder why they chose you in the first place. I say this as a man going t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/26 05:27 PM
Joining the ClubTry to stay busy. It sounds like you’re having a really hard time and it may take some adjusting. Small steps man. Get outside at least once a day. Try to extend that, if you can. Eating. Do not let the grief take who you are. You will always have memories, smells, sounds, sites- trying to pull your mind into a spiral. I am finding staying active really helps me. Nights, mornings are difficult but I try to get up and go and at night I’ve been practicing stretching, exercising and meditation. | 2 | It wasn’t entirely your fault. Adultery should never be forgiven.Something I’ve thought of, over the years. If she did that one time, that I found out about and had to pull out of her. Were there other times? Something I’ll never know. I wanted to trust her. She didn’t show up for that part of the healing process. Said she was going to try harder a few times. Just never did. Ultimately blamed my anger for her insecurity. I still believe therapy and healing is possible. But I now know it takes both parties willing to show up, %100 for each other and themselves… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/26 03:39 PM
On the verge of separation, I would like to hear from the folks here....IMO I think it all comes down to communication. Once you can no longer have a conversation while respecting each other, all the problems stack. Sexual attraction is important but it can also fade. If you truly love each other, that starts to matter less. My marriage was scarred very early with infidelity. If we learned how to communicate and take care of each others needs, we could have overcome. We almost did. Sadly I’m starring at a divorce. We failed at communicating through it all. And heali… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/06/26 10:36 AM
It wasn’t entirely your fault. Adultery should never be forgiven. The images haunt me to this day. Sad how painful it is and how little you were thought about during the action. Sorry it happened to you man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/06/26 01:37 AM
