Why are men seen as automatically more competent if women are as competent? Surely, as a company, making profit is the goal, so if there is this huge pool of people that simply costs less to hire, you would hire them far more readily than the more expensive kind—regardless of whether or not their competency has been proven. Yep. I've noticed this with women I've been with, but when I'm out and about, I make sure to make eye contact with the person walking in the opposite direction, so they are definitely aware I am walking towards them.
