My partner cheated on me with a good friend, the friend I introduced her to. She filed false charges, and I was forced out of the house I paid for. She made my two-year-old daughter call him "daddy," and I became a part-time dad, living out of my parents' house. I contemplated ending it all, but the thought of giving up on my daughter was worse than what I was going through. It’s been going on like this for me since my kid was 2, she’s now nearly 9. Don’t ever expect your ex to prioritise you or show any form of appreciation, that’s not how the vast majority of ex wives are. The only thing you can do is do right by your kid, and never say anything bad about your ex to them. They will be your voice when they are old enough to understand. An ex will never to able to paint you a villain if you remain in the picture and keep fighting for your kids.

My mom used to say: if she give the ring back it means she was hurt and still cares, if she keeps it, that means she’s pawning the thing. Therefore she never gave a hoot. From my own experience I would concur. Obviously, my experience is anecdotal. What about you guys?

Sometime I think that’s just their way of dealing with the pain. They’re not necessary mad at you or want to see you suffer (well, some of them maybe.) I was in a similar situation with my exwife. It’s as if nothing we had was real or sacred. I’m now with a partner who is infinitely more loving. Everything the ex tries to do just falls off my back like water on a duck.

Then you have healed and properly moved on. The opposite of love is not hate it’s indifference.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
