3	Is this beta behavior at the workplace? You sound fairly young so I'll just put this out there: don't challenge people in the workplace. Drawing lines in the sand is something executives do, not you. I can tell when a new employee is green because he tries to interact with his coworkers the same way he does with his roommates (they are two completely different games and your intuition to be "beta" as you call it is a good instinct).
