You're using a differnt meaning of the word "right". The word does mean "correct" in some contexts but in this context people are using it as meaning morally just. (Also reading through my comment I'm realizing that the tone of it definitely can change based on how you read it so just want you to know i mean for this to be informative and not at all a jab at you personall) :)

So how do they know what feels like what gender? I always thought that what makes up a gender IS the cultural and social rules? Edit: Also is there some specific place on Reddit that I could learn about this stuff without it coming across as me being super arrogant/ignorant/offensive?

Ok I'm all for being supportive of people and stuff but I just don't get transgender stuff. What does that even mean? Changing your gender every hour? Doesn't make any sense to me

Does that mean you could change the gender on government documentation before you get the insurance and then change it back? How often does insurance check your gender? Is a gender change something you have to report?

Um, they weren't responding to the article title (what you're calling "the question") but rather to the flaws in Tom Ford's reasoning. Most of the people interviewed in the article also didn't answer "the question", not because they were avoiding it but because they were instead giving their opinions about the unusual philosophy that the question stems from.

I don't know. I'd just like to think that people generally have everyone's best intentions at heart and that any hate that comes from them is just a result of misunderstanding. I guess I just hope that maybe we can all just at least try to get along because I see people in r/feminism that say things that would totally be for men's rights and people from here saying that things could totally be from feminism but there's still seems to be this divide between the two that doesn't make sense. My mom works in IT and she keeps telling me stories about people ignoring her ideas and how she wished she had known that she couldn't use the same tactics as her dad to get people to listen to her. Big believer in gender equality (both feminism and men's rights) and the top panel is something that I didn't understand for a long time. this really shouldn't be in this sub.
