It's also not consent if he nags you into it, pressures you, or make you feel guilty. Fear of refusing makes it a sexual assault, but all cases of convincing of pressuring someone to have sex are sexual exploitation and/or abuse. This is so normalised, while research shows that women who have been exposed to unwanted sex in relationships may develop symptoms of ptsd, similarly to sexual assault survivors.

I would tell people the story like it was: you were offered a ride from a friend's relative, you paid for it with cash everyday. You thought that this was the transaction but then he started to hit on you, you have politely declined and then he became more and more obsessed with you. He used you, and he led you on, offering you help but then using your distress to keep harassing you. And please, be very careful while getting help or favours from men. I learned that 99% of the time a man that hel…

I dated a guy 2 years older then me when I was 13. We dated for about 10 months before I broke up with him. He became obsessed with me. I now have friends that I met when I was 19, that went to school with him, and he would constantly talk about me, they knew so much detail about me that this was scary. I just got a "hi, who is this?" Message on telegram and after checking the number, turned out that it's him... I'm 27 now. It's been 14 years. I blocked him of course.

I hate how she explains that he "doesn't understand" when she simply have a conversation with him and explains an issue, so she needs to "do the same to him" so he would realises why is something a problem. This is really insane.

No you are not a pickme for liking anime (watching tv is an "interest" now? Ok). You are a pickme for acting like the idea of someone courting you is ridiculous and courting is dumb, as you are too laid back for it. One of my friends is a pizza lover, I mean she can eat pizza every day of her life. So if she doesn't like flowers her boyfriend can organise a pizza making evening at home, take her to an Italian restaurant to eat really good pizza, etc. What makes her a pickme is not her different …

In a meme about toxic subs. As a feminist I'm used to men treating feminist spaces as hate groups no matter to the group's opinions and activities, so I wasn't impressed and came here to read. I was surprised to see a space that is against sex work and porn, and especially against bdsm. These were my opinions and I couldn't find a single feminist who agrees with me in other feminist spaces. I'm glad I found this sub, I ended up learning so much about myself and understood my past relationships i…

Why are two grown women can't see that this relationship is horrible, and tell this young woman to leave? This shows how low all of our standards have become. I wish for the three of them to read this sub.

If it feels off and you don't like it then it's not "harmless", no matter what it is. Any response saying that she should ignore / accept it is gaslighting... Second of all EW. I cannot believe that she agreed to sleep with him ever again after hearing this crap, I got such a strong second hand ick from it.

I'm sorry this happened to you, it sounds painful and humiliating. But this is a blessing in disguise - you found out early, before you relay on him and before you have wasted years on him. Maybe now it doesn't feel like it but in a year from now you won't believe that you ever shed a tear for this guy.

All this to the side, the fact that he didn't stay with you is a good reason to break up. Men's love language is attendance. if you are asking him to stay and he wouldn't - he doesn't care about you. I'm sorry for being cold, but I think this is the most telling sign, other then him wanting "submissiveness" (the victorian era called).

Exactly that, and add to this violence in the bedroom, where they can play it off as "kink".

A few years ago, I had the worst breakup with the man who was the love of my life, I broke it up. I don't want to go into details about what happened but it was one of the worst experiences of my life... After picking myself up, and starting to rebuild, I've notice that I'm actually a person with tones of energy and ability - that I waisted, for years, on making relationships with LVM work. Once I directed this energy towards myself and my life, amazing things happened - I got so close with peop…

I'm seriously trying to get his angle... Perhaps he thinks that the he is such the opposite of what he wrote, that he do so much and he is planning the most insanely over-the-top birthdays for her every year, and it's funny to pretend that he is a slob that doesn't do anything around the house and ignores her birthday... But still, even if that's the joke - you are still writing publicly to the eyes of millions this really self centered, degrading text about your wife, that make her seems like y…

That you shouldn't do anything in dating, sex, or any relationships with men that doesn't feel good. I'm going to sound sexist but this is what I found out in life: men like to make efforts for their women. It makes them feel valued and appreciated (of course you should be loving and nurturing as well). If you go on a date and the person is making you feel bad, go away or tell them. If you are in bed with a partner and you are not enjoying, tell them exactly what you need, or what you don't want…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
