Interestingly, most actual incels IRL seem to not match the "conservative altright domestic misogyny terrorist" trope https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/news/incels-are-not-particularly-right-wing-or-white-but-they-are-extremely-depressed-anxious-and-lonely-according-to-new-research

Misandry is a result of misogyny, abuse, violence, and oppression. "Uhmm, ackchually, women can't hate the opposite gender, only men can. Hence all the hate men have ever gotten from women is only exclusively a result of men hating women".

My socialism is compatible with feminism because whenever it occurs to me to think "damn those guys are lazy" it doesn't follow they deserve to be abandoned on the street with no life basics and reasonable way upwards. If someone is being abandoned I don't oppose measures to help them. My socialism, OTOH, is incompatible with mainstream and institutional feminism for the exact same reason. Exp.: mainstream and institutional feminism individualizes to men the issues that they make out to be syste…

The majority of suicide researchers worldwide are women That tracks with more men dying of suicide yearly than women dying of femicide. It's a similar reason of feminists complaining that too many male engineers make things that are ergonomic to men, but procustean to women.

This would be more credible if there weren't known instances of feminist organizations directely and explicitly opposing creation of male shelters, despite it being a fact that men are the most at-risk demographic of homelesness and economy-motivated suicide, by a wide margin.

I saw referenced and adopted the term "institutional feminism" for this. As in in the part of the feminist movement that has social, legal, economic and political power, which is backed by- and entangled with- governments and the very power structures they name "patriarchy".

How do you scpecifically describe "being sexualized", or differentiate it from "being sexually percieved"? How would you exemplify in said "process of being sexualized" a compromise of their agency, dignity and/or autonomy, and link it to an (inbound, not perceptual) act of objectification. Does this objectification imply to you the reduction of the individual and the exclusion of all other relevant traits in regards to them? If so: what makes it an invariable scenario?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/10/23 06:12 PM
3

My take on it can be reduced to: humans are sexual beings. Sexual perception is much like hearing in the sense that you can'y voluntarily turn it off. And the expectation of being able to do so on command of a 3rd party is rather unfair on a base level. Sometimes these accounts comment sections will be notoriously filled with people who don’t seem to care about the content she’s putting out and focus on her body and her sexual appeal. The operational keyword here is "seem". Because they quite pl…

Do you really think that most men on dating apps are scared of false rape accusations? Maybe. Who knows. Incel is not a slur. The people who condition a man's worth and the weight of his opinion based on his level of desirability to women, a.k.a. "virginshamers", try to portray it as one and make it specific to men. Would a mirror argument make any sense? Should women look to how men deprecate women for their understanding of femininity? What do you think an actual "mirror argument" would be? I suppose masculinity sits on multiple axis doesnt it? Indeed it does, and most of these axes are all taken/percieved as absolute overrides. A good hint for starting is whatever women use as intergender deprecation for men. I find this agreeable, but there's the issue that a man's masculinity is judged by women based on his sexual performance (and on the flipside tied to it as a form of deprecating insults), while women are not. Essentially: men aren't allowed to act in a reciprocating manner, because regardless of what the woman is giving for him to reprocate, anything but his 100%, and an unilaterally (to the woman only) satisfying 100%, equals being labeled "not enough of a man", and not just in their intimacy. …

sex positive feminism has been buried under the puritan ethos of the modern feminist establishment. I'd not think so much of a "puritanical burial" as I would of a "radical, misandrist movement, espousing political lesbianism and justifying womanly sexual lazyness by spreading the belief that somehow men «don't deserve women's effort until they redress all of their percieved past wrongdoings»".

The problem people seem to have is when people say "men and females" type of stuff. Because in english female is used as both a noun and an adjective, it's the noun usage the one that makes people touchy. But in the title is adjective. The noun form would be "hembra", which incidentally carries the same connotations. In spanish the word "femenino" is used as the adjective form of "female" by default. It's also a synonym for what in english would be "womanly", and also "feminine".

First off, creature features typically cast very few women (which is another problem). There's a difference between being weak-willed and having a stronger than average drive to pattern recognition for conventional attractiveness. Assuming testosterone has as many morphoneurological grips in the male body as (for instance) estrogen has in the female body, simply because of the sheer amount of each in each, a man is as incapable of not staring for about 2 seconds as a woman is of remaining stabilized in her moods around her period. Just because some people would say staring is "eye…

It's mostly about the pattern recognition for conventional attractiveness that can't be just turned off + making an argument from plausible deniability ("I wasn't wearing it to attract attention...") usually by creating a nonexistent blame then shifting it ("...they were sexually objectifying me"). A man that goes from blank statenof mind to staring needs probably 2-3 seconds of contemplation to realize he's staring. Knowing the effect they can elicit and knowing that they can deny they were try…

In case you don't have this one. "A study conducted in 2007 by Daniel J. Whitaker, Tadesse Haileyesus, Monica Swahn, and Linda S. Saltzman, of 11,370 heterosexual U.S. adults aged 18 to 28 found that 24% of all relationships had some violence. Of those relationships, 49.7% of them had reciprocal violence. In relationships without reciprocal violence, women committed 70% of all violence. However, men were more likely to inflict injury than women." (Essentially: if men don't hit back, women will b…

My thoughts on the matter in a nutshell are: "Patriarchy" is but a strawman, made up to ignore the fact of class privilege that the socio-economic-politically strong leading women enjoy. A way to distance themselves from the percieved sin of privilege and ascribe it to someone else (men). Misdirection away from the fact of them having and abusing the very thing they condemn. It takes the verticality of class-privileges, provable by the fact of each individual's socioeconomic status, and slams it…

It's because the dynamics are a two-sided coin. Whataboutism most of the time can be disregarded can be disregarded by saying "Yes, I agree that happens, (although) to X extent" the proceed with your argument. The #Not/YesAllMen/Women crowd is really everyone. Most people faced by a generalization that is unfair to them because it doesn't apply will fight it back. Most people will feel like they are being forgotten if their issues aren't addressed. In the current world, where feminist issues hav…

Risk vs. tediousness. If it takes 30 min and has a <0.000000005% chance of causing potentially lethal bodily damage, a woman does it. If the chance is higher, regardless of the time it takes, a man does it. Most of men's assigned tasks aren't daily repeat things by this premise. "Counting hours dedicated" is a convenient form of setting up a theory that dismisses the tradeoff of risk. True, women give up more hours of their finite lives to regular tasks, but men do far more sporadic tasks with a…

Sorry to kind of follow your comments, but this is a very good point I wanted to respond to. Nah, don't worry. This is one of the best ways to discern knowledge and wisdom. Dialectic, was it? Luckily we can quote specific units for thoroughness :). The point I'm making is that when you are on the backfoot, you cannot afford pride. Sad, but true. False accusations do occur, but they are rarer when placed in the reality of how frequently people actually are victimised in this way. The point, as somewhat sensible women are also wont to acknowle, is: "we know it's not all of them doing it, but it just takes that one bad actor and you're done for." And in the case of a man falsely accused, you're likely done for life. A victim of rape, despite the trauma, often has sympathy and lives in the growing certainty that what happened to them was wr…

the phrase “white women” is used in order to slyly pass off misogyny It's probably got to do with the Karen stereotype. But it's also probably got to do that white women are a significant part among women of the actually oppresive socioeconomic elite, dubbed "the patriarchy" by feminist discourse. So it's also maybe an attempt at distancing themselves from the people they know to be "problematic" by "smearing them with (white) privilege", not unlike how men are addressed under the prevalent femi…

Britain’s approach stands in stark contrast to that of the US, Australia, Canada, and other European countries. Women in these countries do not typically face prosecution – let alone prison – for lying about rape, state prosecutors and experts said, because it’s not considered to be in the public interest. Unsurprising. What's more. No country to my kniwledge seems to have a default counteraccusation against someone that was found to be purposefully lying. Not even for perjury, which is supposed…

Following up on the parent comment for this yours, my gripe with it is that in the long term, it will cement by repetition the bias that it is only relevant because it affects women. Even if we manage in practice to get some laws about it, it will end up becoming yet another step-away in the already existing socialized empathy gap. Including having it internalized by "impressionable" men that would be allies to feminism.

Holy f*ck. I did know in Spain a false accusation didn't enter the stats unles all of 1)accusation officially made and went to trial, 2) accusation disproved with sufficient evidence and foul intent proved (proof that the woman made it up, ergo, man is innocent), 3) man counterdemand of his own will and resources, and 4) succesful conviction of the woman for specific charges. All of these, in that order for it to be counted in the flase accusation report stats.

Not to mention, the needles for injecting vasalgel are actually smaller than the ones used to harvest eggs, and we already do that. My point is, Vasalgel stops sperm from reaching the egg, and it could potentially also be placed in the fallopian tubes, hence becoming a passive, reversible, non-hormonal, unisex alternative that both men and women would likely individually prefer in light of the alternatives for each and their consequences. A couple feminists tried to chew me once for suggesting i…

I theorize that the "feel better" chemicals that get released from crying aren't much useful in the torrent of testosterone (perhaps oxytocine related), so men developed a less active reflex and only cry in rather extreme situations. (Also google "why men cry less", reading keywords are "testosterone" and "prolactin".) My theory is that hormones that are known to be released while crying (like oxytocin) have a dampened "uplifting effect" against testosterone, whose production especially decrease…

Because men are shamed for not having the amount of sex women are shamed of having. Because getting a lot sex, for a man is a sign of success, while for a woman it is a sign of unrestraint(Briffault, Bateman). Incel and whore as insults can only dissapear at the same time. And in case they say "It's about equity, not equality". You can just say "in this point they overlap to be the same thing". If you feel like wanting to go at it for a while you can still say "So you agree that feminism doesn't fight for men and therefore masculinism is necessary." At that point she might say "men don't need it because men jave had all the power" which you may contest with "so you're justifying your whole movement upon the fallacies of rushed generalization and ad populum by clai…

Interesting answer. Wouldn't admitting to some hurt, trap them in their own push "for men to be more acknowledging of their emotions", and linking them to the toxic, immoral behaviour that damages, brand them as problematic? IMO admitting to hurt and defining the damage (especially as damage resulting from toxic and immoral behaviour) isn't inherently diminishing, and takes away from them any further power over the mention of it (or they risk you playing on them the victim-blaming card they othe…

AFAIC you only have to be the bigger person when they're being positive or neutral. As soon as they drop into negative you need only remain a fraction less negative. Throw no insults but the ones they've already provably thrown at you, adapted of course. Pettyness can be contested with pettynes as long as you don't fall into any new fallacies, but just extend back at them the ones they've already planted. And using their own discourse arguments to trap them in their own catch22 until they resort…

Simple: make paterniy by default just as optional as maternity. But since a man cannot decide that the woman have an abortion, paternity's optionality should be opt-in. By equity or equality this is the only way of givin the man the smae equivalent say on the matter. In any case, the man should only make a willing, explicit acknowledgement of paternity for it to be effective. Of legal value only when accompanied by paternity testing as proof that he is aware of there being misattribution of biol…
