Well it was because of some property issue kind of thing which is fairly common where I live. Divorce is still stigmatized here and that she wouldn't get a better deal that this. Other than this reason, I've come across that it's evolutionary trait that is in males to not worsen the atmosphere by sharing our problems. At least one of us has to be low drama, mentally stable in order to survive. Men in the hunter-gatherer societies would stay by the fire figuring out what to do or keeping it to themselves it seems.
