Don't you believe that there's a greater emotional connection to erotic or romantic love than platonic? I'm sure I've read in passing about pair bonding being an established phonomena, presumably related to greater levels of pleasant emotions being evoked.

I wanted to be respected by my peers, and believed if I got laid a lot I would be. And status matters a lot both for your self-esteem and for your happiness. Does it work? I'm a mid 20s virgin but I assumed any attempt to raise my self esteem wouldn't work out and do never tried.
