Yes I did! My wife left me and I was devastated for a long time. It took years to get over the resentment and grief, but I am much happier now. I can’t really picture us together anymore. I am still sad on missing out half of my kids life growing up though. That never goes away

This was exactly my experience. Once I was a single dad, things were way simpler than I imagined they would be. I only had the kids every other week (we are week on / week off) granted, but even the weeks I have them, I just pick up as we go, do the dishes and do a once over on the house before bed, and.... that's it. Everything stays clean. I honestly can't explain it but it doesn't require THAT much upkeep. She must have been making it harder somehow with the effort we were both putting in

Dude I'm not looking forward to the time my kids are excited to see their step-dad, even though I know it's coming. Gonna be rough for sure

I went through something similar and it's a common story around here. I think two things are likely going on: First, she likely has been planning this for a while and mourned the relationship while you two were still together. So she's "ahead" of you in that sense. And second, it's a LOT easier for women to get attention from men than the other way around. So it's real easy at the beginning for women to get lost in the 'high' of all the exciting new relationships. She'll likely come back down to…

Yeah thats exactly my feelings on it. He didn't do anything to deserve this - but now he has to just deal with this trauma, probably for his whole life. It's really sad I could never put my kids through that voluntarily, but I think a lot of women (esp in online circles) lie to each other about it. "Oh kids are resilient", "better to have two separate homes than one bad one" as if like...working on your marriage is not even fathomable. I dunno, I don't want to rant about it too much, but I agree…

My ex wife changed drastically after becoming active on Tik Tok too and then all of a sudden wanted a different life. What is it with that app that gets its hooks into women?

Lmao this is relatable. My ex wife suddenly started listening to this singer Ashnikko. Every single song was just "Men suuuck I hate men I don't need a maaaan" Should have raised red flags for me lol

I'm going to echo what Xan-Diesel said - by far the hardest part of my divorce in the long run has been dealing with losing my kids half the time. And having no control over what happens to them. Yeah, the grief, loneliness, jealousy, emasculation all sucks a lot. And I went through all of that, but the thought of some other man who I don't have a say in getting to raise my kids half the time just kills me. Honestly, I used to drop them off, then pull around the corner and cry in my car for 20 m…

Like others said, I think you're naive for believing anything she says about anything from now on. I empathize with you about the anger. It's been 7 months since my divorce and anger is the only emotion I still feel about her really. I'm really not a violent man but everytime I see her to exchange our kids, a part of my brain wants to break her face I don't know if that will ever go away

He's saying that once you understand women, you will realize things that make you no longer love them lmao

Haha I know the area you're talking about! It's probably not that different from 2006 honestly. And yeah I'll stick around. Seems like a great community here actually which is weird for reddit

Oh yeah I'm getting totally fucked. 50/50 custody but I still owe child support. I'm on a tight budget but we didn't do anything too expensive so I made it work basically lol

This is how I feel also in a similar boat. My ex always wanted to be away from our kids on mother's day while I always wanted to be with them Kinda telling when you think about it

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
