Yeah I wasn’t trying to argue against you, I was basically agreeing and just adding to the discussion. But thanks for your comment critique breakdown, was most helpful!

The bit about it being better to be invisible than get sexual attention for strangers most definitely doesn’t apply to all women!!! The internet is crawling with women wanting sexual attention from strangers. OP doesn’t seem to understand that a lot woman actually like to feel desired and seeking out attention from strangers is an easy way to feel that. And I should also note that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to feel desired. Both men and women seek that out from strangers. …

There’s also just a lot of guys who find curvy women attractive. Not every guy likes size 0 women. Also is hitting on women now considered sexual harassment just bc the woman didn’t ask to be pursued?? I’m 40F, men have been coming into me since my teens. I haven’t always wanted the attention but I’ve never considered that harassment even when they were persistent. I have however been actually sexual harassed. There’s a huge difference. I feel like there’s just so many mixed messages about these…

I watch porn quite bit and I’m a woman. I will watch it with my sexual partner too, it’s fun! I don’t understand why some women literally treat porn like a third person in their relationship. It’s ridiculous! It’s just images and videos FFS!!

Lol I’ve lost interest in the book already, the white paper and the ted talk will just have to be where it ends. There’s other things I’m more interested in!

I read it as a teenager and that it was great. Never thought of it as teaching to you be disingenuous, so you need to read further to understand fully what it’s about. But yeah it’s just about getting what you need from people by addressing their needs first. I use this principle a lot in my dating life.

Lol at this stage yeah definitely! I’d never given it much thought before having to explain it I don’t know why I even bothered tbh. Not sure why I felt the need to climb this hill, make it bigger and then die on it too! Next time I’ll just take in the view and go about my business lol!

Yeah there are definitely girls like me that exist lol! However you might be disappointed to know that I’m poly at the mo, which I’m very open about with anyone I’m seeing. So I’m not focusing all my attention on one guy and I don’t expect them to focus all their attention on me either. But that’s not to say that if I found someone I wanted a real relationship with that I wouldn’t end things with the other guys. I’ve had monogamous long term relationships in the past. I’m just into doing things …

Ok well I’m not disqualifying anyone bc as my other post noted, I went out with the other guys that don’t text that much and i would consider seeing them again but my level of interest is waning bc I just don’t hear from them that much and I interpret that as them not being that interested. My responses about no contact was to a comment where the guy said he has no contact at all outside of setting up the date and the date itself. So I interpreted it as exactly that. There was no mention of the …

You’re not understanding my position at all but I’m done trying to explain it. When you talk about a few texts as too much investment for most guys, I’m glad I don’t have to deal with most guys then! None of the guys I talk too show that little interest. You get back what you put in when it comes to investing in me so anyone who isn’t willing to invest that such a basic thing as a brief text every few days, then you getting anything back from me. Investments work both ways. And I doubt that guys…

I’m not saying that you need to say those words, in fact I would definitely tell you not to say that. What I meant was, that sending a brief message about whatever IMPLIES that you’re thinking of her or that she popped into your head. Just a ‘Hi how you doing today? Looking forward to Saturday!’ a few days before the date would be a minimal effort gesture that would give me an idea of your interest levels. I’m not saying at all that every guy has to bombard me with messages all the time just to …

None of the guys I see have experienced this and I don’t trap guys in my phone. I just like to make sure it’s worth everybody’s time and effort to make a plan to meet up, as nearly all the guys I talk to don’t live locally to me. So I’m not going to push for a meet up if I’m not sure about whether I want to see them or not. And if any guy says I’m not worth investing the time to text a couple of lines of text a few times a week, then why would I be worth the time and money meeting up with? I cou…

You just proved my point about this strategy! Not every woman is going to respond well to not getting any contact outside of dates. Guys are the ones that keep insisting that there universal rules for dating women! No there isn’t! Each woman is different and you’ve got to be able to just go with the flow. If you read any of my other comments you would know that I do that with the guys I date. They don’t all text me 24/7 but none of them go no contact at all bc that tells me you have no interest …

If you read my other comments you would’ve seen that I’ve specifically said that I’m not talking about loads of texts, I’m talking like one a day just to send the message that you’re thinking of them. And I never said that texting was all that’s necessary, obviously meeting up in person is important and having the same chemistry in person as you do online. You basically said the point I’m trying to make - you need the comfort base level and rapport to be able to go on the date in the first place…

Yeah you’re not wrong in doing that if that’s your preference. I think I view things from perspective that very few of the men I talk too are that local to me and I want to make sure that there’s some sort of attraction there for me prior to making the effort to meet. All the men I’ve texted with and then met have turned out to be like what their texts revealed about them, there haven’t been any nasty surprises yet. There’s always loads more to learn in person but the initial bit of info from te…

Texts on their own doesn’t lead to knowing someone and I would say just going out for dinner once a week doesn’t do that either. But with time both of them combined will definitely get you somewhere. And in terms of disqualifying great guys, I can’t date every guy that wants me too, so something has to be a deciding factor. The level of interest you show goes into deciding that for me. Obviously there’s other things too but that’s a big one. You don’t have to be a big texter, just a few every so…

Yeah I can see that happening with some people I guess. I think the main thing about texting for me is that it’s just an indication of his level of interest. If I hear nothing, I assume he’s not thinking of me and hasn’t much interest. If I get just a few texts during the week just to say they’re thinking of me, that would be great! I put down your confidence to escalate as being success with the your recent date rather than the no texting thing . I think you’ve gotten laid even if you had have …

I’m very aware of how dating was before texting! I’m 40! And it’s not a faux connection if you’re being honest in your texts. Ok so here’s an example for you: so there were these 3 guys I was talking to during Feb/March. One guy, very sweet had lots in common, we didn’t communicate via text much at all. We met up bc another date fell through and I wanted something to do. We met for a walk, spent 5 hrs together just talking, telling each other intimate stuff about our lives. It was great. I’ve ha…

The more you do this the more you’ll find that you’ll go meet women you have no connection or chemistry with. You would have known that before the date if you had communicated more with them. At least do a phone call prior to setting up a date. You got lucky with this one lady, she sounds great. But they won’t all be like that or go so smoothly no matter how confident you are.

I would probably cancel the date if someone else I was actually talking too and I felt more of a connection with, asked to go out on the same night. Building a connection is why you communicate before meeting up. I hate that men think this is a good strategy. Men not wanting to talk before meeting up just tells me one thing, you’re only interested in sex not me. Even as a very sex positive woman, this wouldn’t completely go against you but you would not be my first choice. When a guy shows that …

So this is just my perspective as a 40F. A little texting before a date is not a bad thing. Just bc it worked this one time doesn’t mean it’ll work this way every time. If you’ve got a date planned for like a week ahead, send maybe one or two leading up to the date, saying you’re looking forward to it and to meeting her. This will tell her that you haven’t forgotten about it and/or are thinking/excited about it. And it’s always good to confirm that the plans are all still set to go. I really val…

Don’t take it so personally, it probably had nothing to do with you, her mind was just somewhere else. She didn’t actually do anything purposely negative to you.

I think you’re overthinking a moment in time that she probably forgot about 2 secs later.

I don’t operate like that at all. I don’t go on dates with guys just bc they ask first or whatever the case is. I go on dates with guys I actually want to spend time with or get to know further. And this goes for the guys I have sex with too. I usually have to establish some kind of connection via text, calls whatever before I decide if I want to meet them. Once I’ve established that I do want to see them, then I go about asking him out or hint that I’m interested so that he can ask. Some men wa…

Some people don’t get it, especially some types of women. I would respond positively to what you described doing. It’s all about the power dynamic between the two of you and just being playful with it, it’s hot! It’s got nothing to do with actual violence or anything like that.
