The problem is gender studies is a made up subject. During the 1970's universities in response to feminism gaining popularity basically created a new subject overnight. This created an ideological gold rush where you could shout any rubbish and suddenly have it be apart of academia. This is why actually interesting studies are placed next to "why air conditioning is sexist", "dogs sniffing each other is an example of patriarchy led rape culture" and "maybe we should chain up white male children …
