He was demonstrating the difference between learning problem solving skills which can be applied to any number of problems, vs. simply memorizing facts, equations, or answers that get you a mark on the test and do no good afterward.

If the person engaging in sex with a minor is less than 3 years older or younger than the minor, then they are guilty of a misdemeanor. The point of law is to punish and protect. Punish a rapist of another teen. Protect any other teens from being sexually victimized. You just answered your own question.
