There's a difference between making a mistake and being at fault. She made a mistake, but it was the guy's fault. I left the door to my bus unlocked one night and someone stole my nav unit. My boss almost fired me over it. I made a mistake, but it wasn't my fault that some jerk stole my navi. There's an important difference there, and it's the difference between wisdom and victim-blaming.

The basic argument here is simply that people can be offensive and oppressive without realizing they are doing so. This is true. The article linked points out that using "pussy" to refer to weak and cowardly men reinforces the stereotype that women are weak and cowardly. If you don't understand why the insult targets all women even when you intended it to target a man... well, you're rather dense aren't you? It's because all women, and only women, have a "pussy" and so even if it's a bit uncouth…
