2am, might as well tell my storyBrother, I'm sorry. I hear you, and feel your sadness and frustration. Divorce is a brutal option, but it resolves eventually and you WILL find your way. Just remember life is LONG, and can have many chapters. Loneliness is real though, you need to make sure you find ways to be connected. Divorce support group, church, dive bar, somewhere to make connections that remind you that there's life to be lived. Good luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/23 11:28 AM
Just wanna vent about my (currently) 7 month long divorceLook brother, it just takes time. It take time to process what's happening. It takes time to work through the court system. It takes time to be OK and move on. In some ways, the time forces you to reconcile with the decisions you've made, and forces her to deal with losing you. But at the end of the day, it just takes time. Chill, and good luck man. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/23 11:25 AM
She'll Snap Out of This Right?Oh man, I hear you. Jesus Christ, I hear you. It's just more complicated than that. Yes, some women are just straight cunts, but some recognize - as I did - that there's more (or less) to the story. My point about the light switch is that there's all kinds of triggers that send us down these roads, and (if we can), recognizing that two people can see the same thing but interpret it differently - may bead to healing. But fuck, it's all a massive tragedy. I'm sorry brother. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/23 11:23 AM
She'll Snap Out of This Right?Although I appreciate the thought, and would support it if I was the one being "light-switched", I'm actually the "light-switcher" and think it's an oversimplification. We went along "fine" for decades. It was the death of my dad, causing me to see my life and marriage in a new way (his marriage to my mom was a catastrophe), and my desire and belief that despite my best efforts, my wife would never grow with me. I just snapped one day after hours of fighting, grabbed a bag, left the house and as… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/23 03:01 PM
Men who wanted outMan, this is tough. I'm one of these guys you mention, and I'm a year in. I would say it's MUCH harder than I thought it would be, because she chose to use the (grown) kids against me when she knew I wanted to move on from her. Depending on how long you were married, and how many "good times" you had with her, it may be harder or easier. I was married a LONG time, and had MANY great memories, but as I got older, she was the same woman I married and I had changed so much. We just weren't compatib… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/23 12:36 AM
Men who wanted outThere's lots of YouTube guys who have made the move. More expensive in the cities like Manila or Cebu, but if you're in the provinces, yes, you live like a (relative) king. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/23 12:33 AM
Tell me the good things about getting divorcedLove this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/23 12:29 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee? You'd be surprised what happens as the divorce progresses. My spouse filed, then decided she wanted us back together. By that time she'd been such an unbelievable cunt that I said "if you drop this, I will re-file the next day". So I'm now the one trying to push the divorce through. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/23 04:09 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee?OMG, the arrogance of telling YOU to file so she doesn't hurt YOU any more. Jesus fucking christ on a stick. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/23 04:08 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee?Choose "I filed because I wanted a better life"... now that better life may be just your old life back, but you want something better than having to put up with her insanity. Easy vote. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/23 04:07 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee?Sure you can. She filed because "she wants a better life". Now to be clear that's total bullshit, but you can certainly vote. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/23 04:06 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee? Thanks for this Dill, I agree. No matter who's at "fault", divorce is an ugly ugly thing. We're all hurting, and it takes years to recover. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/09/23 04:05 AM
Are you the divorcer, or the divorcee?Yep... I mentally separated they day she walked out on me, so I feel like I've been divorced for the whole time. Doesn't keep the sadness over the whole catastrophe away, but at least I'm used to being away from her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/23 04:20 AM
When did the feelings of grief end for you?I'm close to you... 28 years married, 1 year since separating and starting the divorce process. "Waves of sadness" is a good way to put it. As much as I resent how she's treated me, it's just so fucking sad. It's a nuclear bomb in both our lives, and it changes the trajectory forever. I think the pain is less raw now maybe, but it's still present almost every minute of every day. Some days are better than others. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/09/23 09:47 AM
