The general public has a short attention span. They need to be reminded that people are suffering. Raising public awareness attracts attention and it puts pressure on those who can change things.

On a related subject, I almost never see healthy, well adjusted men in films and TV these days outside of superhero movies. They are always emotional wrecks or in this case, feminist puppets.
