YES. This is it. This is what took me years to realise. I looked at all my heroes that I admired so much - from martial artists like Bruce Lee to politicians like Theodore Roosevelt. And what did they all have in common? They produced. They provided value to human civilization. I use the Silverback Gorilla analogy for this. What does the alpha silverback gorilla do for his tribe? He provides protection and leadership. And in return, he gets first choice in mates, and has a 'monopoly on respect'.

People like to shit on motivation and say that discipline is key. But the thing that people seem to forget is that 'Discipline' only comes at first if you are Motivated to build it in the first place. So how do you motivate yourself? Personally, I use 2 techniques. The welfare state may be a good thing IF only it was given to people who NEED it (e.g. - people with disabilities). But what people seem to forget, is that many people who live on welfare are pure lazy. This is coming from someone who lives in a very multicultural area in London. There are people on welfare who get a higher weekly income than my family, because my dad has too much pride to go on welfare, and would rather work.
