The difference is amazing isn't it? My boyfriend put up a curtain pole and new curtains up in my kids room for me this past weekend, and not once was there any frustration or any nagging from me to get it done. I asked for his help once, and he worked out what we needed, got it and fixed it.

They are so useless. They kept insisting I had good reason to report my ex for the harassment and abuse he was giving me, I finally agreed and reported him. And what happened? Absolutely fuck all. They gave him a verbal warning and that's it.

Love this! I told my bf I really disliked people being late and that it was a pet peeve of mine. He is so careful to never be late and the few times that were due to work or things out of his control he's super apologetic about it and lets me know immediately.

I come from a desi Muslim background, I'm no longer a Muslim myself though. It's so ingrained in desi culture, you'll be hard pressed to find a man who doesn't have some kind of internalised misogyny.

So I tried this today and his response was "I don't like that game, it's not lava" 😂 god damnit child

I think it's mostly because tidying toys is doing "kid chores" but helping me with dishes and laundry is more grown up? And he loves to pretend he's very grown up. His toys are all in open tubs that are visible on the toy shelf. It's his specific job to do which is of course less fun than doing mum's jobs lol

My boy is 4 and I'm so insistent on starting this early! I'll be damned if I ever raise a lazy kid who doesn't clean up after himself and his home. Currently he loves to help me with dishes and laundry, hates to tidy toys though 😂

Things in ny relationship are going really great so far and I'm thankful to FDS for helping me pick up skills on how to vet men for dating. It's been nearly 4 months and of course I'm still vetting, but he loves to spend time with me, brings me surprise treats and gifts every week, comes over and does my dishes immediately if I'm occupied with something and is constantly complimenting me. On Sunday I had a panic attack mid us making out, I'm not sure why really but I went and cried in the the ba…

I think the key here is finding a short man who isn't hung up on his height. The man I'm dating is 5'6", I'm 5'7". I don't care and neither does he. Insecurity about height is such a turn off.

There's a part of the footage where she's crying and gesturing that he grabbed her by the neck before she slapped him. I don't know how the police concluded she was the aggressor, you can clearly see how upset and distraught she is.

I think they didn't officially name him because they wanted to keep an eye on him and not scare him off. But it didn't work and he's hiding.

I'm keeping mine. I have huge regrets giving my kid his dad's surname as we had planned on getting married and changing mine but that didn't happen. Not risking that ever again.

I'm really glad I stuck around after coming to this sub maybe 6 months ago. I'm dating someone now and the sub really helped me with knowing what to look out for, to constantly vet and not put too much trust in him too soon. So far, things are going well. He's very sweet, this morning whilst I was still in bed he cleaned up my kitchen and did dishes, made me tea and took out the bins/recycling because he remembered it was bin collection day. I'm still vetting of course but so far, the sub has re…

Personally, I enjoy playing video games so it's not an automatic no for me. My ex was useless and unproductive, spent most of his time playing video games. I'm not interested in anyone who spends all their free time playing, it's not attractive.

I am a strong, independent bad ass single mum who is carving out a great career and raising my toddler to be a good person who will hopefully go on to be a HVM one day. I'm also interesting as fuck, hilarious to boot, and intelligent.

I have a 3.5 year old and I'm always worried about how to teach him porn is bad as he gets older, especially with how prevalent it is amongst teen boys.

The only thing I'd like to add is that maternity leave is not paid at 90% for 39 weeks. It's 90% for the first 6 weeks. Then the rest is statutory maternity pay which is around £150/week.

Chuck and Blair on Gossip Girl. Chuck was an awful, awful person but they romanticised him so much. Blair wasn't great but their relationship was toxic.

Thank you so much for your comment, this is something that really bothers me about feminists who defend Islam's treatment of women. I'm an exmuslim woman, I have firsthand experience of how women are treated as second class citizens in strict Islamic societies. It's not islamaphobic to recognise the sexism in the religion.

I just saw the news that one of his victims was his own mother who kept challenging his misogyny and another was a 3 year old girl. My heart is breaking, I have a 3 year old, I can't even imagine how her poor mum feels.

Yeah this one is definitely not that bad but I should have clarified I meant The Guardian one I read earlier today. The article was mostly just listing quotes from him.

I am so fucking disgusted with news articles online talking about his horrible and harmful views towards women. It is garnering him sympathy he does not deserve. I've seen so little on his actual victims, including a young child. All the comments on "he struggled with mental health". No, he hated women because they wouldn't sleep with him, that's what set him off. Say it simply like that instead of blaming mental health issues.

I fucking hate this. Last week I saw one of a man missing his wife giving birth to their child for the Euro cup final. If a man did that to me, he'd never be coming back into our home.

Absolutely agree with this. In the past I've avoided dating men who don't understand my free time is limited and expect me to be able to do things suddenly when I have a 3 year old. Other parents usually understand that. The guy I'm dating now isn't a parent but has been really understanding of that and makes it a point to check when I have my child before suggesting or making plans.

100% this. I had a first date planned with a guy a month back, day of he cancels which annoys me because I'm a single mum with not a lot of free time and I don't like my time wasted. Didn't bother replying to him at all. New guy asked me out couple days after and every date we've had since he's always on time or early, and has not cancelled even once because I mentioned I hated time wasters.

I don't understand this logic at all. Even if I showered the day before and I've done nothing today, of course I'll shower before a date because I don't want to be sloppy and want to be my best self. If they can't shower for a first date, they're a waste of time.

I am so scared of this. I would love my ex to have half custody if he was capable but he isn't always. We have a final hearing next month and I'm so terrified. My kid has so much more stability with me.

I love this. I've just started seeing this new guy, been on two dates and both times I let him plan and work things out and he was more than happy to. The man bought me a whole freaking cake yesterday after I made an off handed comment about it the day earlier. So far, all good signs but still constantly vetting. FDS has been amazing for my mindset.

Incredibly infuriating. I knew what he was doing was wrong but I did what was easier and less painful in the moment to end the silent treatment. Eventually it stopped working and I would just ignore him.

Credit card debt. He was a mooch, would spend our money on crap and if I objected gave me silent treatment or abuse. Also a huge loan I'm paying off that we got for moving into a home together after we had our kid. He moans at me that he can't find housing alone and the council won't house him because he owes money to them and blames me for it. But sure, completely ignore the fact that I'm in over £5k debt because of your endless spending and forcing me to use cc to pay for basic groceries and n…

Oh my god yes. I don't have to go to bed next to someone and cry myself to sleep because I'm exhausted and miserable whilst he doesn't even ask if I'm okay. I don't ever want to share my bed with anyone again.

I've been on dates with two single dads who on the first date told me they don't see their kids at all. Both claimed it was because the ex was withholding all contact. One tried to paint it as he was so hard done by and claimed he'd been to court and had a lawyer but still wasn't given any visitation. Neither got a second date and wouldn't have gotten a first if I'd known this before. The other single dad I dated seemed okay, didn't talk badly about his ex but even he wasn't sharing custody equa…

O'Malley is annoying as fuck with his nice guy persona and Derek pissed me off right from the start, he treats Meredith like a child. Karen's character development is wonderful to an extent, he grows and changes a lot and went from being my most disliked characters to one of my faves for a while. All of the men on Grey's are not exactly good men though.

How do you date as a single parent with very little free time? My son is with his dad maybe 2 days a week, some weeks he doesn't go at all. It's so incredibly difficult to meet anyone in person right now and online dating is not the best. The last time I met someone from OLD seemed nice enough at first and then ghosted (this was right before I found FDS). As an almost 30 year old single mum, I feel like my options for finding someone who deserves me are so low and I am getting to a point of hati…

On my first mother's day he didn't get anything for me, not even a card. When I questioned why his response was you've barely been a mum for long, it's not a big deal. Our baby was maybe 2 months old at the time. I was so embarrassed of him when people asked me what he did for my first mother's day.

This time last year I finally got my shitty ex to move out after I ended things on January 2020 and the relief I felt when he was gone was amazing. A month later I moved somewhere else and the energy was so different in a place that didn't have his presence at any point.

The shit Taylor Swift got I will never understand. She did what most artists do and sang about her love life, which if you don't like it is totally fine. But she got so much crap for it as though she was somehow worse for doing it?

I will never understand this saying. Women age so much better than men, even when they are being overworked. Men don't age well most of the time.
