To me it's just highlighting you shouldn't take group statistics with external factors and use it to justify an individual bias. By all means continue on arguing for the wage gap. Last I read when adjusted for external factors the gap is around 95cents to the dollar. Just dont try to misrepresent the truth because all it does is convince young girls to start a hate fetish towards men and develop a victim complex.

Thats besides the point my friend. There should be a gender neutral emphasis on preventing DV. For example what if suicide prevention campaign were just male focused because males are approximately 4 times more likely to commit suicide. In this metaphor the WA website eould be like saying if your a man with suicidal thoughts call this number. I get that the whole topic is probably annoying to yourself because the way you see it is a bunch of people complaining about something without putting any action to the words thus in your eyes the issue is not worthy of action if no one is willing to do it. The biggest issue I see is the whole society mindset about it people can't get help because the biggest hurdle is societies rejection. And to change societies mindset about it you have to raise awareness. In that case anyone who spreads the word including myself is helping.

All I know is that the many men that try to reach out about the issue are tossed aside. Most of the time it would be fine if they just went for gender neutral funding. But instead we are left with ad campaigns such as "violence agaisnt women, Australia says no". That was an ad that from memory ran for about 5 years. That's a lot of funding for something that could simply be changed to, "domestic violence, Australia says no".

The last statistic I heard on Australian radio was male DV represents 15% of all DV not factoring the huge variance there would be given male victims are much less likely to report and/or be seen as the victim. I don't know about you but 15% of all DV or about 5% of the total male population. Thats a lot of people that should warrent at least the same percentage of funding and debate time. However its not. Funding for specifically male DV victims is closer to 0% and to debate it is to be a sexis…

Makes me feel proud living in western Australia.... Australia as a whole has horrible mens rights stances. I remember just a few months ago the topic being debated on the radio about funding for domestic voilence for women's helplines and multiple male callers getting completely shut down when they try to raise the issue of male DV. They were sperting statistics like 1/3 women will experience while only 1/20 males as some sort of excuse to dismiss the issue. Well that works out to be 15% of DVs …
