I created a mantra for myself and I try to stick to it. Be strong Be kind Be grateful Be humble I think it encompasses some of the things I aspire to be. All of these include doing those things to others and to yourself too. Try to be the best you can and things will happen.

Basically, this. Very well constructed answer. It feels hard to escape thsi thought pattern, even though people have shown me compassion before. These fears are ingrained in my mind and also from my observations of the world. Crazy.
