It all depends on your state. Just search like “Texas child support calculator “ or whatever state you live in. Some states have the official ones listed that are used.

Take the money while it’s there. If you are co-parenting then you’ll probably be set to receive Child Support from her also. My Ex here in VA pays me around 450 a month or so in CS and it doesn’t affect our coparenting at all. Just depends if you have a bat shit crazy ex or someone who is sane and understands what all this is truly for.

It’s now a business transaction and go for every little thing you can. Stay in the house as if you leave she’ll use it against you. Fight for custody, fight for alimony and sure as hell fight for child support. You said she pulled from her 401k to pay for the divorce but she didn’t file yet? That’s still considered joint money. If she has more in her 401k than your since you’ve been married your entitled to 1/2 the difference also. Please don’t go in with the “I don’t want to be mean or hurt her…

Need to check what start your in as thats absurd. Go online and see if they have the manual calculators and dive into it. As I said, I make 112K and ex makes 180k and its like 51/49 to her split and she still only pays 450 a month to include money for me paying for health insurance on our child. My lawyer did all the paperwork and used the calculators on.

Is she also not claiming the 50% cash. Hope shed claim it or report that shit to the IRS also.

Like the others stated, what’s the wage gap and what’s the custody. My ex makes 60k more than me and have 50/50 and she only pays me $450 a month based on the calculations.

Document document document and I can’t state that enough. If she’s not letting you see your child document it. If she’s threatening time document it. Everything you can do to protect yourself and your time with your kid do it.

Once you file it’s no longer the marriage but a business deal, so protect what/who you can from the beginning

If you are both amicable it can happen as it did with me. We sat down and decided together the split and custody and everything. I had my lawyer draw up the paperwork then gave it to her to review with her lawyer. There were 1 or 2 tweaks she wanted and then we were done. Didn’t cost us an arm and a leg and we both got what we wanted.

Don’t forget that you’d also get child support even with 50/50 split. My ex made more than me and pays me cs monthly along with all the bills for our child are adjusted based off income so that way she’s forced to pay more on her end bc she can afford it.

DO NOT give her everything she wants. You want 50/50 custody, 50/59 split in the house and 50/50 split on anything else that’s in the positive. You’ll wind up owing 50/50 on any debts but it’s worth it. Grab some cameras and start recording your interactions and conversations so she doesn’t try running to the police and claiming domestic violence and such. Just be ready that once you open that can of worms it’s all about your children and you. Let her figure out on her own what she needs to do t…

Also remember to bring it up that the 20k was your joint money. So essentially you’re entitled to 1/2 of all the furniture she just bought.

I would say depending on how amicable this could be setup some in house cameras. Plenty of stories out there of false domestic violence claims from the other side just to get you out of the house and then your on the back foot.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
