Don't overdo it by making this some big emotional event, or you can snap back just as hard. Stay stoic, hard, and focused on self improvement. Take it one day at a time. Emotions are the enemy in this pursuit. As others have said, a shit storm of texts/calls can ensue. Block her immediately, everywhere. This girl is gone, and she's not coming back. As far as you are concerned, she no longer exists on the planet earth. Focus on adopting that mindset. Then focus solely on yourself, from here on ou…

Yet in the range of 18-22 this isn't also the case? I call bullshit. We've got hormones raging in us our whole lives, but the profiles are just different at different ages. Saying someone has no agency because they have hormones is ridiculous. And as I said, I think the male sentencing is inflated already, and needs to be brought down. 6mo-1y seems reasonable.

Fair enough. But let's not pretend like we aren't 99% sure of what the situation actually was. I was 17 once too. If I felt anything toward my female teachers it certainly wasn't intimidation. I think u/beddall is trying to say this is a far cry from the teacher holding down a weak/defenseless child and forcing herself on them. Imo 6mo seems fitting for this crime. I think it absolutely is fucked up that if the genders were reversed, it would be different. But that doesn't mean inflated sentence…

Well, just to be clear, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying focus on paying yourself instead of others. This guy is dumping his money into the already bloated pockets of the BMW dealership he bought this from. He's not focusing on getting himself straight first before splurging on a nice car. This is an objectively poor financial decision. He's 21. He does not need to be driving a BMW. Hell, no one does. But especially not a 21 year old with 17k in the bank and living with his parents (which …

Freedom is not subjective. You are either free to do as you wish (within the law), or not. You don't get to not pay for your own home. You don't get to not pay for food. You don't get to not pay for transportation. For insurance. For property taxes. For your children. For entertainment. For hobbies. Etc. etc. etc. Life costs money. Let's stop pretending like that's not the case. I actually think that's a hell of a lot more "philosophical" than what I'm saying. Getting lost in your mind instead o…

We don't have true freedom until we are financially free. Period. And I don't agree with promoting financial wastefulness that pushes men further from their freedom.

$17k is not enough to own your own home, have money socked away for personal expenses, and an additional emergency fund as well as investments that will ensure you live comfortably for the rest of your life. That's why I'm saying you cannot afford this car. Feed yourself first. Feed expensive hobbies later. But never feed the bank. That's my advice, and you can take it or leave it. Initially I thought you were in your 50s and financially independent, and even then I had a problem with this. Reas…

There is no way, at that age, unless I'm missing a story about a massive inheritance, that you are financially well off enough to afford this car. And even if that were the case...just as you need to get yourself out of the pussy-pleasing mindset, you need to get yourself out of the consumerist/status-obsessed/social-climbing mindset. Agree with all but the blue pill sentiment that a woman who doesn't want you fat af @ 260lbs is somehow a POS and "doesn't deserve" you. As if women are even capable of such unconditional love. We all understand female nature, here. No need to get up on a soap box and bring sappy emotions into the mix. IME, no woman is actually going to "want" you to be fat. It's the same on men's side. Biologically speaking, we want em thin. They want us muscular. Neither gender has to adhere to that if they do…

Careful with this. Increased test --> increased sex drive --> increased need for female attention. There's a sweet spot, but I don't think maximizing test is necessarily the way to go.

The strangest thing was, she just used to get naked and lie next to me, and allow me to do as I please with her body, but I wasn't allowed to kiss her. Did this jump out at anyone else? If nothing else, this should have told you this girl is severely disturbed. If nothing else, this should have been the moment to kick her to the curb. Thing is, if you're above average in looks, you don't need SM to get laid. Hell, you don't need SM in any case. People don't seem to understand this. TRP is about freedom from validation, especially female validation. SM is female-controlled, people. Don't ever forget that. When you go on there, you are entering their realm, tail between your legs, playing by their rules. Just get the fuck off it. You don't need it. I would edit this to just get the fuck off social media. It's literally a cancer on your mind and body, and needs to be cut out. As for the whole scarcity thing, I like the concept, but A. it's not practical if seeking an LTR B. If you're posting on social media, you are not scarce. C. Your whole reason for needing to be "scarce" is rooted in your need for attention and validation when you "return." This is a glaring weakness/insecurity that wafted off this post. D. Well, everyone does whatever the fuck they want. That's just part of living in a free society. It's not particularly special to do whatever the fuck you want. Basically the only way you could be restricted is either via the law, your job, or via your relationship(s). So, I agree with you to a certain extent. But I wouldn't then make the logical leap that certain things you do, while doing whatever the fuck you want, won't have (potentially severe) consequences. That's really what I'm talking abo…

This is part of why I went and qualified to be a sperm donor. It's the best evolutionary strategy, in modern times. You can have dozens of children with other men's wives, you don't have to lift a finger to make sure they are raised properly, and you get paid to do it. For those of you with good genes and high sperm count, I'd recommend it.

Fair enough. But you realize you've planted a seed for a future problem at that point. I'll give you that it's good you have a solution for the problem when it comes up, but I'd rather take preventative action to begin with. Generally women will follow the man's lead. If you communicate that you're always going to shower her with attention -- the moment you don't, or can't -- it becomes a problem. She will respond badly to being deprived of her dopamine fix (through your attention), either direc…

Solid post. This is an equal reminder, by the way, for those in relationships where things are good. Do not provide excessive attention to the woman. Initially, she will love it, and praise you for it. But over time, it will become an expectation, and as a consequence you will be shamed and berated for not applying that excessive attention at a minimum. Stay careful out there, everyone.

Yeah I had a feeling the girl learned this behavior from her mother. So many parents have no idea what they're doing when they exhibit bad behavior in front of their children. It's quite astounding people so well off can still be so deeply dysfunctional. Just goes to show you can work your ass off, but if you don't work on your marriage/family, things can easily fall apart.

Off-grid when you owe child support is illegal. That's all I'm saying. Go OG all you want when you don't have the courts/police after you. Illicit measures are not the answer. If he ghosts, he'll pay. Even expatriation is a shaky proposition -- who knows when a support treaty could drop. "He admitted to me more than once that he doesn't want to retire because he can't imagine spending 24/7 with her. How fucked up is that?" I'm fairly certain this is why most men become workaholics. They cannot stand coming home to a nagging wife, so they'd rather stay at work. As far as the wife is concerned, it's mission accomplished. He's working more, bringing in more money, and she's basically co-opted his home to do whatever the fuck she wants.

Had this same deal. She was a dime, highly submissive. She did your current girl's "full service" and then some, no problem. It doesn't last. Though I think using "female nature" as an explanation is a gross oversimplification. Nevertheless, your mindset is impressively right where it needs to be. You're essentially receiving free labor in exchange for providing her with attention and getting your balls drained. So essentially, it's emotional mercantilism. More in than out. This actually makes some sense. Those who have been alpha widowed likely may be out for revenge on their ex-alpha. But since they could never get it, they'll likely enact their revenge through the destruction of another man. This may provide some sort of absolution. Though I suspect it's probably not as satisfying when they do it as they thought it would be. I'd be interested in a theory writeup on this.

I appreciate your outlook on this. For a moment there I thought you were going to suggest carrying on a serious relationship with this woman, who apparently almost had a child with another man...That said, you can't be surprised. You've got "plates," yourself, and with her SMV and your lack of commitment, it's likely only a matter of time. Just please make sure you're bagging it. That's fair. And I don't believe any of us are looking for a "perfect" anything. Maybe I fucked up on my interpretation, but I took it like you were posturing yourself over these guys. Frankly, as long as you're attractive, you can get away with pretty much anything, at least in the short term. But as with men, it's an art to get to know someone, develop a connection, and finally to tell them/show them how you feel. It's kind of depressing to say this but some women will get bored without dread. Though I'd argue they probably should just forget about monogamy in that case. The thing about dread is it's fun at first and creates a lot of passionate connection, but gets old after a while. As in, most mentally well people are not going to want to feel dread on a daily basis. Well, if you're in a nice burb, there's definitely some sampling bias in terms of what you see around you as "doing well." I'm merely saying if you're not in debt, and have accrued a decent amount of savings, you are better off than most Americans. Let alone the rest of the world. It's something to be proud of. Upper middle class and higher folks will laugh at that, and attempt to rationalize why it's actually a crappy position to be in, but I don't believe them for a second. There's no evidence…

but the fact that you were able to dip into your savings to cover it (as opposed to plunging deep into debt) is, again, an indicator that you’re on track and doing well. I said this exact same thing. I'm really noting some financial dysmorphism here, at the very least on the part of the husband and maybe even a little in OP. Twenty-somethings seem to have a totally distorted view of what "doing well" in our society looks like nowadays. This couple is doing amazing. When she mentioned that there …

Maybe a bit off-topic, but this just made me think the social media fake lifestyle flaunting is out of control, and it's destroying the self-esteem of both men and women. Giving the average joes and janes totally wacked-out expectations of where they should be in their twenties, thirties, and beyond. I mean jesus, your husband isn't even thirty yet; and guys in their thirties are still seen as babies in most higher professions. Does he realize that? If he even kept his same salary for the next 2…

Like I said, anything that would oversexualize the woman. Super short shorts. Super low cut crop top. Things like this. It might work to get a high school/college kid's attention, but I don't see this being a viable long term strategy to gain and keep the attention of a quality man you'd like to spend your life with. I think the male equivalent would be wearing things that show off status -- overpriced clothes, watches, chains, sunglasses, hats, jewelry, etc. Or perhaps guys who work out and onl…

In the past before I started reading redpillwomen I actually thought the only way Women could draw attention from men was by wearing garish colors, booty shorts, crop tops, what ever is in fashion or other overly revealing clothes, basically a forever21 clone. Yeah, this couldn't be further from the truth, and I'm glad you picked up on what most (quality) men find attractive. An understated yet classy wardrobe is very sexy, says a lot about your personality (e.g. "I'm not seeking attention, but …

I didn't say harsh. I said "hard," as in absolute and final. In any case, harshness isn't necessary, but truth is. And I have a feeling OP is leaving some things out. There is no way we have a full picture of OP's relationship based on the ~250 word testimonial she gave. My problem is many women have (usually single and unhappy) friends that jump to conclusions like this because they're just dying to demonize the man in order to lure their friend back into the abyss of singlehood. If his job is highly stressful, this is totally normal. OP, you need to chill out. Save "talks" for the weekend, and try to just be supportive of his new job. I was in this same mode (medical student) with my LTR, specifically with regards to sex. The reason he's having sex instead of talking as much is that it is a way for you two to be highly intimate in a very short period of time, without having to talk for an hour or two. You're not a low quality man. You're just a normal man, and normal men do not want to talk for hours after a long, stressful day at work. This should be glaringly obvious to the OP, but unfortunately some women took to poisoning the well of her relationship by suggesting the man doesn't respect her. This is absolutely insane, and it's the sort of perspective that could only be held by a highly sheltered, myopic, and inexperienced individual. I would strongly disagree that men lose respect for a BA/BS outside of Engineering or Accounting unless she gets a Ph.D. We're in agreement, since that's not what I said. Thank you for writing this. I actually just made a post to this effect when a woman was advocating for same-class partnership with respect to the male's perspective, and I made the same point: the only reason you see a lot of same-class marriages is because people of the same class congregate together. Do not make the mistake of believing that, since a man was really only in a position to meet and connect with women in his career, that the man chose his current woman based on her career. Very im…

Solid read. All this to say, just as with men talking to other men, I've seen people with nothing but a diploma far outshine others with degrees on degrees in terms of raw intelligence. Imo a lot of the "lawyer marrying lawyer" "doctor marrying doctor" "engineer marrying engineer" "financier marrying CEO" happens as a result of the networks that these people mingle in. As a man, can confirm. Nothing makes me happier than taking care of my woman when she needs me. It's a deep, almost paternal instinct. Unfortunately, many women take advantage of this instinct to dump excessive amounts of emotional, dramatic crap onto their man. Never do this. Help him conserve his energy by dealing with what you can deal with, and know that when you really do need him, he will always be there.

Yep. Psych and FM are pretty decent as "lifestlye" residencies, if there's even such a thing. Not sure if Psych has to do IM rotations, though. If so, those are tough (80+hrs/wk). FM has to do some, but I believe most time is spent in clinic which are like 40-50hr weeks. Psych seems to be 40-60, generally, but they say it can get quite mentally taxing depending on your patient population on any given day/week. Still...not bad for residency. More info here https://forums.studentdoctor.net/threa…

Agreed. I'm basically in OP's same exact position, and I ran this calculation too with several different careers. Bottom line is it's gonna take like 5-6 years to dig myself out of the debt hole anyway, and I'm probably gonna have to bust my ass to do that anyway, so I might as well do it in a context where I end up with a massive salary, respect, and the ability to really make a difference in (realistically 5-10% of) patients' lives.

This is exactly what I always tell women. You call it a "baseline." I usually say it's a "threshold" beyond which you are defined as attractive and therefore the only thing distinguishing you from another woman is going to be those little things that are pretty much entirely dependent on personal preference. A lot of women don't understand this and impress their own personal preferences onto other people and themselves, thereby losing sight of their own attractiveness and excessively elevating o…

Like I said, it was a joke. I agree with most of what you said. I just don't know if I agree that "LTRs are not BP," as a blanket statement. I think it's fairly obvious many can be. I think what you meant is that one can be RP and still have a successful LTR. I agree with that. And I'm just jesting that the "survival rate" on an LTR is eventually zero, meaning many men become unsuccessful by the end of an LTR -- whether that's a bad breakup, bad divorce, or death.
/r/TheRedPill14/09/18 08:39 PM
1

Of course not. I didn't mean survival in literal terms -- as in survival of the relationship -- but rather in a metaphorical way. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that success is subjective, and many men, after a certain period of time, a certain amount invested, and a certain amount returned, may not feel the overall net result of an LTR was "success." Also, in my defense, the whole premise of the comment was a simple joke. Of course there are successful marriages, LTRs, and what have you. B…

Well, yes, your comment was a slippery slope. I suppose I should have demonstrated that initially, but here you go: Calvin said "Yes. They are orbiters and you are an attention whore. If this is false it matters not that will be the perception." And you said "So women who interact with men in any way that is not strictly within the context of a relationship are attention whores?" That "in any way" is kind of important, since the specific problem here (in the context of an LTR, not now of course)…
/r/RedPillWomen10/09/18 02:25 PM

That's a slippery slope. That's not what Calvin said. I think what he meant, in an admittedly brusque manner, is that a woman seeking attention from men in quasi-intimate interpersonal "guy friend" relationships are sacrificing the chance to have a deep, meaningful relationship with an LTR, all for the sake of largely superficial male attention. Additionally, his initial statement really was focusing on how it would be INTERPRETED by a potential LTR prospect, with the REALITY of the matter being…

If you're getting into an LTR, you should not continue to associate with other men you are "interested in." That's bad news, for obvious reasons. If you're with a keen man (and if he's good enough for an LTR, he will be keen), he'll notice if something's off with one of your "friends." He'll notice if he's getting too close, if he's dropping hints, or generally acting inappropriate with you. And by the time you realize your partner has realized this, you'll be doing overtime to dig your relation…

When you find yourself nagging, it's because he doesn't respect you. Strongly disagree. Women can nag independent of whether or not the man respects them, and it seems to me the more they know they are respected, the stronger they feel entitled to nag. Now, I do think women can become upset as a result of never being consulted on important issues, but this should not be classified as nagging.

If you've attained a higher level of education, you are, by IQ standards, likely to be "intelligent." But obviously there's different types of intelligence, which I assume is what you mean. So to address that point, I wasn't saying one had to be educated or not. I was merely saying it was an indicator of a lasting marriage.

Fair point. I think it's weird these stats don't show past 20y, but it could be that we simply just don't have enough data yet. I'd love to see them up against some sort of "satisfaction" metric from both spouses. That would be really cool to further break things down.

Look at the statistics for divorce when both individuals are highly educated. Bachelors degree gives you a 78% chance of surviving 20y vs. just 40% with HS or less. I really hate to bring race into this but it's been so pervasive that I've got to mention it -- why is it that I'm always seeing black women do this sort of thing? Is it because, since most black women are in same-race relationships, that they think they're more likely to get away with it? i.e. cops will be more likely to believe them about their black husbands? Or is it just a matter of poverty? That is, women who are poorer are more likely to be morally bankrupt like this?
