No, but I see you haven't read much about cases where a man actually defended himself from a woman.

You guys truly think that's what goes through a white knight's mind? Bullshit. It's far more likely that they just drank too hard the "don't hit wahmen, wahmen are always the victim" koolaid. Those are so ingrained in their guts that it's their instinctive reaction.

Yeah, but that doesn't take away from the saltyness. Would it hurt that much for someone writing a couple of pages on a graph to actually show the graph? It's like talking about, say, isosceles triangles without ever using an image of them.

Made me salty that the first few links I got explained it a lot but didn't give any of the actual goddamn graphics to analyse by myself.

yet do we demonize these people? Then we should be demonizing them too. If everyone is shit, everyone should be called on it. I don't really see why that would take away from drunk drivers being pieces of shit. It just means the amount of pieces of shit out there is higher. On a slightly off topic, what is it with Americans and whenever someone says "X is bad" they tend to answer with "but look! Y is worse or almost as bad!"

It seems kind of apples and oranges to compare drink driving to factory pollution but maybe things are different across the pond. I thought you implied that "people who can't do X should have no opinion on how people that can should go about their stuff". It was a counter argument against that idea since most people would agree with it from the get-go. It was a counter example against the generic idea, not the specific case you used it for. Also, do you seriously consider driving drunk to be sim…

London. Guess you also believe no one but mega corporations should have any saying on what they should and shouldn't do about the environmental effects of their factories since almost everyone else haven't participated and cannot participate in that activity.

Yeah, public transportation is actually a thing here and I can't yet buy a car without going into debt. Guess that makes it so I have no say on the responsibility of people who drive drunk.

How many people get killed by people driving slightly tired or slightly groggy compared to drunk driving? It's not like those serious, permanent consequences are gonna make up for their shitty behaviour. If everyone else is an irresponsible piece of shit when it comes to their behaviour, that's on them and I don't think we should be dandy and fine with that. "He killed someone by being ridiculously irresponsible. Oh well, mistakes happen." Not killing people nor greatly increasing the chance of …

Dropping a kitchen utensil while distracted is a mistake. Driving while drunk is being an irresponsible piece of shit. Heavily drugging yourself when you know you are irresponsible when drugged is also being an irresponsible piece of shit. If killing someone when driving drunk is a mistake, so is stabbing someone in the alley while trying to rob them. There comes a point when you start being responsible for your conscient choices, and if you are old enough to drive, it has been far too long sinc…

Too bad it only took him killing someone to become responsible about what he does when he drugs himself.

Drunk driving is hardly on the same page as "mistake". The individual knows they are endangering people and they still choose to do it. I'm more selective with my friendships than wanting to be close to someone so detached from the consequences of their actions.

Ah, the average 'murican. May you never change. Such a great source of amusement.

You also don't get to throw bags full of books at people because it feels good, so I don't particularly feel bad about her getting some overkill. Bullies getting overkill reaction from their victims is a joy.

I see you have no idea whatsoever on how multiple hits to the head may affect someone even if the one doing them is generally weak.

Of course it's different for women. You don't get free shit if you have a penis.

Fuck, can you think of a more propitious name than "John Doerr"? With how much HR likes their bullshit, imagine having "doer" on your name.

systemic sexism and harassment of all men Don't be silly, everyone knows that kind of stuff cannot happen by default if you have a dick between your legs.

If in that moment, you knew you didn't need to hit back with all you had - would you still hit back with everything? I would. People often forget how a bad fall or a good punch may cripple, get you in coma or kill you. It only takes one occasion of bad luck to ruin a life. Knowing you can take it easy with people in a fight is the stuff of movies. Fighting is dangerous stuff. Of course, would only come to that if fleeing wasn't an option.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
