I mean we all have heard the story where some people make a genuine effort to be empathetic and unselfish, and they get burned for it. Regarding women being punished for empathy, to me it seems like you are sharing examples of men who lack emotional intelligence or have no clue how to empathize with women's suffering. You will find good n bad on both sides.

Unconditional love from a partner is not sustainable. At some point, the novelty fades, and we revert to our rigid ways. In my country, I have seen wealthy, spoiled children involved in hit-and-run cases. Their parents bribe everyone to minimize punishment or reduce jail time.
