I like how she called you 'mentally screwed up' for being capable of reading sexual body language within common sexual acts (non-kink BDSM). Yet them doing the above described BDSM (so rough that you scream and cry) is not part of mentally screwed up; yeah sure tell me more. I always know that people who deviate somehow far too much from societal norms and if there is a push for extreme behaviour to be tolerated, they pretend that words like metally screwed up don't exist (read don't apply to th…

The one who leaves has already moved on. The one left didn't get that head start. This is perhaps the most accurate statement here - given that we only have anecdotal evidence.

I've seen it happen to both sides. All of this here is anectodal evidence. Unless we have statistics of large samples, we can't really make a general rule out of it/see a trend.

What you can do about it is to choose a partner who will most likely not date/have sex/sleep around quickly after a breakup. This is one more reason why 'the past is the past' is not reasonable.

The point of such generalities is not that every person doing behavior x implies behavior y. You should read such statements as person doing behavior x is likely to engage in behavior y. The point is that there are no rigorous studies for every single casual implication. But people use leaps of judgment. Now one can argue whether certain assumption to conclusion leaps are educated/accurate or not. But claiming that if a woman goes clubbing every night does not probably imply that she is promiscu…

I only met a handful of women who are like OP describes. In real life, they are scarce. Most women aren't like the overblown archetypes that are shown on the internet. Not sure why PPD focuses their attention so much on a small minority of women.

No that is not true. Studies show that married women WITH children have a marginal decrease in happiness compared to women WITHOUT children. And a marginal decrease means that they are still happy, just less happy than if they wouldn't have children. Which, given that classically women nurtured children and men weren't involved that much and raising children is a huge amount of work, stress, sleep deprivation, etc. it does not come as a surprise. And also in this case, the emphasis should be on …

Because their 'real life experience' is based upon cherry picked events that they consume on the internet, through media outlets, real life instances. They ignore all other cases and just use those cases that you mention. It's like someone watching TV all day and claiming they understand the world. Whereas when they go outside, the events they consumed on TV rarely - if ever - occur in real life.

It kinda makes me laugh how this sub just attracts exactly those men that women who do not want to be pumped and dumbed should avoid. They all want sex by date 3 because if not that indicates she is not into me. None of them actually came here to say well she could show me somehow otherwise that she is into me like: kissing on the 3rd date, holding hands, telling me that she likes me and wants to wait with sex, or some other form of intimacy. All of those would resolve the issue that they claim.…

Even if they find them physically more attractive (which I highly doubt; they are only saying the societal correct thing to say), then it doesn't mean shit as long as women don't overwhelmingly mate with disabled men. Is this phenomenon observable? Not really. Most relationships in which women engage are with non-disabled men.

Such people will always use the phrase 'sexually experienced' to describe high n-count which is completely delusional. 'Sexually experienced' carries a positive connotation which immediately implies 'good at sex'. However the contradictory part of it is that most women find most casual sex encounters to not be of quality (i.e. not reaching orgasm, the sexual partner not reciprocating, bad sex, etc.). A person who has 3-5 times sex per week in a LTR is sexually more experienced than a person who …

Not really. Let us assume our population has 10 people (5 men and 5 women). It could be possible that 3 women have sex with 1 man 2 women have sex with 2 men 2 men have no sex at all. Then each woman has exactly one sexual partner (although 3 of them share the same man). 1 man has 3 sexual partners and two men have each 1. The average will not be equal here. 5/5 = 1 for women and 5/3 = 1.67 (you need to count only those who actually have sexual partners; otherwise you of course get 1 all the tim…

And even from those percentages where roughly 3/4 are men, it's from a small sample of people that are actually using dating apps etc. Most people are not part of that. All of the analysis is statistically insignificant and not a reflection of reality. Like seriously, we have researchers in social sciences, evolutionary psychology, relationship dynamics, etc. and you really think they would have not figured this out if it were this easy as people on here pretend it to be?

That doesn't seem high to me. Where I live (in Finland) reported data for men is something like 16 and 7 for women. But the data that I have at hand is from the 1990s so it is pre OLD era. I would really like to see how or whether this changed due to social media, dating apps, and hookup culture going from local parties to online hookup culture. Do you know of any such data?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/22 07:02 PM
2

It is hypothesized that some men over report and some women under report due to social stigma and evolutionary reasons. This then leads to a higher average for men and a lower average for women in the data set. A good read: Why are men reporting more sexual partners than women?

I agree with everything you said except The average number of sexual partners is pretty high Isn't the average somewhere between 5-10 lifetime sexual partners for both men and women? Where the data is from pre Tinder era iirc. And then people on the internet just went with 'Well that is pre Tinder era and hence nowadays it must be higher' but there isn't any data on that (yet).

Can't say I've seen or experienced many situations where a woman did these things well enough to justify all her other pain in the ass needs. Also they are nebulous so in my observation they are easy to offer and underperform at while claiming to contribute to the relationship. Those are your experiences and I will not try and tell you that you are wrong. If that is what you experienced most of the time, then your view is certainly justified. I hope you will meet more quality women. I've recieve…

I see. Well I'm not sure about the women you have met but I can tell you what women can offer and what women have offered me. What women can offer: Women can birth a man's child. Women can be there for a man. Women can give emotional support. Women can offer companionship. Women can go to work while you stay at home with your child (in case this is the relationship dynamics you want). Conversely you can go to work and she stays at home with the kids (in case that this is the relationship type yo…

They talk to me, cuddle, listen, spend quality time with me, one woman raised me (together with a man), with some women I've done assignments, others helped me with homework, some showed me around a new town when I moved, the list goes on. One helped me move. When I was broke two or three helped me financially. Some paid for drinks, activities, trips, meals. The list goes on and on for me ... All those things happened in LTR and with casual relations. So you see. The women in my life have offere…

Yes on Tinder. However what these people do not understand is that 70%-80% of people on Tinder are male. There aren't that many active Tinder users (relative to the population of people in the dating population). So all of those experiments in OLD that show that an unattractive woman has so much access to casual sex are not representative of the actual dating market since we are talking about a very small percentage of women. Not many women use Tinder. In real life this phenomenon is insignifica…

TRP focuses their analysis on a very niche type of women. The ones that actually only have their pussy to offer. That is a very small class of women. PUA, seduction, and TRP (the successful ones) have a small conversion ratio from approaches to intimacy. This indicates that most women are not in the category of offering just pussy. Most women offer more and are looking for companionship (even if it is something casual).

I am much better in my 30s (I'm 33) then I was in my 20s. This is because I spent my 20s building my life, career, relationships, getting an education, etc. Roughly at the end of my 20s or turning 30 it was when my efforts started to reap benefits. Physically I remained fit during my 20s so I am still in shape and no difference between when I was in my 20s. Lookswise I look young because I've taken care of myself. The point of n-count is not that people with high n-count like yourself or your partner are damaged or not good as humans or whatever negative attribute people make up. It is that it's correlated with less relationship satisfaction, correlated with breakups, correlated with some psychological problems, correlated with substance abuse, correlated with party lifestyle, etc. This just means that for someone seeking LTR it is statistically more risky to get involved with a high n-count person. That …

If a girl is promiscuous you will know by spending time with her. People on here pretend that promiscuous girls are somehow special agents and have the skills to hide their double life. There is no need for such an extensive list of red flags of which most things on it do not even indicate promiscuous behavior. Some of those indicate an ugly personality tho.

Many women can pass that list easily. It is just that those type of women blow up on media and you think that that vocal minority is most women. Just go outside and look around you and document and tell me how many women you see with fake long nails, heavy makeup (not light but heavy), dressing sexually provocative, etc. Of coure the personality traits you won't see with your eyes. Not sure where you live but when I take a walk outside I rarely see such creatures.

Agree. Seems to me that so much of the things on here are disconnected from the majority of cases that happen in real life. They just pick the bizzare cases and pretend that that is how dating is for most people.

Perhaps it is also my perception that is warped too given my own experiences. In the end I cannot tell rigorously since like you I operate on my own experiences and limited sample from life. Now if you were searching for relationships with guys who do not use OLD, do not hit on girls, do not go to clubs, do not go to bars and you still found only men who want hookups, lie, and cheat, then it is definitely not your fault. Because there aren't any beyond the flawed ones by Paul Dolan as mentioned by u/GottaPSoBad. And anyone who took statistics knows that such huge claims are very hard to prove, nearly impossible. And a proven claim such as that would be pretty popular within scientific circles to say the least.

I am fully aware that this is not how the real world works and that is why I originally started with saying: Let us say hypothetically we can conduct the following experiment And then I demanded an answer from you to see your decision making. You are still not paying attention to what I say: You have two identical people except the n count varies. Everything else is the same and you have to choose between them. That is the game. So choose that and stop talking to me about other stuff. The emphasis of your thinking should be put on: people CAN change. But here we do not care about whether someone can change. We care about whether it is LIKELY that someone will change. Experience, statistics, judgment, logic, rationale, etc. all point …

Gonna stop you right there. I did some cursory digging, and while I found multiple news articles or websites positing this, the only actual search source was the same for all of them: A guy named Paul Dolan. His own Wikipedia article points out that his conclusions and evidence are...questionable, to say the least. Was searching for this exact same thing when I wrote up my answer but couldn't find it. It seems like Paul Dolan is the one who brought that hypothesis to the pop cultural forefront a…

Escorts then. Escorts cost money. If men see women getting things like that for free, then they ask themselves why am I not getting it for free? You can say that they are crybabies but wanting something that someone else gets for free just because they exist and you have to pay for releases a feeling that is called 'unfair' and also negative emotions. Do not pretend that that is not natural. Also many men feel that paying for sex is fake and not a natural experience. Most men don't hire escorts.…

Those men who will seek to destroy society and build something else will act out with violence. Violence is multifaceted. Sexual violence, physical, pychological. All of those would increase in the scenario you describe. Whether the incel men are going to do it, it doesn't matter. It will go up. See the history books in any society were we had revolutions or wars. Rape was always at its peak in such scenarios.

Then she can have that. The point is that most women don't want that and we should not impose such a lifestyle on most women. But whoever wants to choose the particular lifestyle you describe can choose so. And if they are truly happy like that without just pretending to be, then that is a life worth living in my book. However we should not glorify such a lifestyle in popular culture and impose such a lifestyle model on most women.

I agree that women should not have to do xyz just for the sake of men. But you should not forget that below the social upbringing and below moral values, there exists a biological and primitive level. In the hypothetical scenario that u/abagus101 illustrates, at some point men's primitive and evolutionary instincts will kick in (due to higher testosterone in men, etc.). In this case I am talking about getting sex through violence. This implies increase in rapes. See for instance India. It is wel…

None of those things that you mentioned indicate anything about my partners' sexual and relationship behavior. Also the hypothetical experiment was that you have two identical people and we just change their past relationship behavior and nothing else and you should choose based on the premise that you want a stable long term relationship. You know that in such an experiment the correct and less risky answer is to choose the person with a past relationship behavior that shows LTR potential.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/22 03:05 AM

I am just curious how keeping everything else fixed and changing just one variable and having as your goal a stable LTR, you do not see which of those choices is less risky. But if you wish to pick at random even within such a controlled experiment, then go ahead.

Let us say hypothetically we can conduct the following experiment: Imagine your ideal partner. In terms of looks. Personality. Every single variable that comes to mind. We duplicate that person and change only one variable: #1 slept with 50 people and never had a long term relationship. #2 had 2 LTR and 1 summer fling. Otherwise everything is equal. Both claim to want a LTR. You are searching for a LTR. Which one do you pick? And why?

I think lots of the warped perception of these women is that they spend time on platforms and in places where there are only guys that are going for hookups, i.e. OLD, social media, bars, clubs. That is their only strategy for looking for partners. It amuses me how they never develop the skills and strategies that are needed to find quality men. Says alot about such women.

Why are women seemingly so terrible at determining whether a man "likes them as a person" or not? Because society doesn't teach kids growing up how to be careful. Either that or they ignore it. Everything is taught nowadays to be sexually free and explore. Go on a date with a stranger? Why not? Well how about you have no information whatsoever about that person. Whereas if you were to date within your social circle, the reputation would be much more transparent and situations like that less comm…

Not sure if I qualify as a Chad but I do pretty good on dating apps. Roughly 10 matches per week in a city of population roughly 200 000. When I was in uni, hooking up at parties was fairly easy. I had long term relationships (a 4 year one and another 2 year one). Women have paid for me, i.e. drinks, meals, two even a short trip for us together. Similar experience that I had living in Germany and in Scandinavia. OLD is mostly men lying (or saying the correct things that lead to wanted outcome) to get laid. Safest thing to do for a woman is to date within known social circles (i.e. friend of a friend) where the reputations are transparent. Unless you want only hookups which in my experience most women don't want. Btw I'm a guy.

Then she could've had sex with OP on the first date regardless if he is bf material or not. Bf material > non-bf material (in this context and discussion). She used intentional tactics to attract what she perceived as higher value for something long term by withholding something that according to you, is just sex and not a reward. That is contradictory in this case because if sex is not a reward, then she should not have to withhold it in order to attract OP into something long term and engage i…

Was searching for a comment along these lines. Placing someone in the 'boyfriend material' category means he is more valuable. The implication should be that the more valuable person gets more 'rewards' (for lack of better terminology) than the lesser valued person. Instead the hookup culture logic is: Give the lesser valued fuck boy all the rewards without the commitment and work and give the supposedly higher long term value guy less rewards for more commitment, work, and time investment. …
