2	The Circle of Diversity It is widely acknowledged that GSUSA sucks as an organization and as a program. BSA and GSUSA aren’t like countries or restrooms. You do not belong to one by default. Only 5% or so of all youths join one. The girls who want to join BSA shouldn’t have to change “their program” when GSUSA isn’t their program. Because the BSA is providing experiences and resources to one group of the population but not another group, based on a single trait. That is the textbook definition of discrimination. And having been a Boy Scout and having discussed this very issue with many others in my troop and others, including Girl Scouts and international scouts, there are very few scouts who didn’t think that GSUSA sucks and that the BSA should begin allowing girls to join.
