The war on drugs is the single biggest factor in weaponizing law enforcement against people and predisposing them against the normal population, it's insane how bad it singlehandedly made things. Of course it's being gradually let off as the economy gets even worse and more unequal. Giving people just enough to satisfy them in their free time
