This is why I've not seen a therapist since moving to Portland, OR. One of the issues I'd like to resolve is ruminating on all the man-hate and discrimination against men I've heard/experienced in this city and I'm afraid that any counselor I speak to here will also be a radical feminist man-hater and that will backfire and set me back.

Back when i worked at MTV they would blatantly discriminate against men and give the women all the opportunities. I regret not reporting it ... And that was 20 years ago. Report it so she won't do that again to others.

yeah, for me that was exactly the point. It's difficult to gain a clear perspective on controversial issues because everyone is biased. ..and maybe ChatGPT has a little bias in favor of women too because of the wealth of one-sided gender info on the internet, and maybe it occasionally gets something a little wrong, but at least it's not coming from a human and it (hopefully) doesn't have confirmation bias.

That's why I used a condom during the consensual part (the part where I was awake). The issue is that while I was asleep (not consenting) she started quietly trying to infect me with her incurable disease. This is a story about a sexual assault. Why you're trying to shame me right now is pretty weird. If a woman was sexually assaulted at a frat party, would you respond with "well what were you doing at a frat party anyway?"?

Wow. Maybe you need to re-read it before you trigger me. She wasn't trying to initiate sex, she was trying to deliberately pass her incurable disease to me while I was sleeping. And we're talking about HSV2 here. Though it can live in your lips, it's really more of a genitals virus. And condoms are the primary recommended way to protect from passing it, since it's spread through skin to skin contact. Please check your facts before downplaying someone's trauma.

Did they not even conduct an investigation (look at the camera footage, their phone locations, evidence of a struggle, etc) prior to convicting him and sentencing him to life? I wonder how many men are serving life sentences for false accusations like this. "Believe women" is a blatantly discriminatory idea. I guess people that say that don't think men deserve basic human rights?

Yeah, there's definitely not as much empathy shown to men ...that's nothing new. But now it's much worse because men also get a regular dose of hate directed at them. So it's not just "suck it up and be a man", but it's now "suck it up, I hate you men" ...followed by more hate if a man complains about feeling hated. to me, the biggest issue/s women face are around sex crime victimhood. They are ~9 times more likely to be raped or sexually assaulted. The 52X number we occasionally hear doesn't adjust for women being 6X more likely to report when they are the victim of a sex crime -so as with most gender stats, it's misleading. Yeah, I'd add that men work more hours on average as well. If you adjust for career choice and number of hours worked, the wage gap shrinks to just 3-5%. And then there are other factors like men are more likely to ask for a raise and apply for a position they're underqualified for. This is why I consider the wage gap to be largely a myth.

Interesting take. I actually found it refreshingly fair to men compared to most gender info online. The salience bias part seems pretty on the head -When people hear one story enough it starts to feel like a bigger and more legitimate deal.
