I'm not sure what to say to that. People are different. Some might value their lives more or have more to live for. Maybe there is some other difference between me and them. I don't know. I'm not saying it's wrong for other people to choose the man or woman over the bear. I'm just saying that I'm not, and that I don't think that makes me or other people who make that choice irrational or sexist.

Yes, but I would rather be alone in a shop with a bear than a human, for the same reason that I would rather be alone in the woods with a bear than a human. It's just that when I think about a shop, I imagine there being plenty of other people, surveillance cameras, etc., and when I think of the woods, I imagine being far from civilization and out of sight and hearing of other people. I think that's part of the hypothetical scenario.

The thing about the woods is that I would be at the mercy of the other individual much more than in a shop or some other public place where there are other people around to see or hear what is happening. I don't know what percentage of people are rapists. If something had changed, they would say so. It's hard enough to get men to trust support services that say that they want to help them. Nobody who wanted to help men would write that they were founded to help women and not mention men. 1522's website says that they were created to address "violence to the detriment of women". Nothing on their page suggests that they would help men. 1523 says that they either want 1522 to help everyone on an equal basis or that people excluded from 1522 get their own service. If 1522 didn't exclude men (and presumably also non-binary people), there would be no need for 1523.

I would certainly hope that it's extremely rare for kids to rate each other on a scale where "unrapeable" is an option, regardless of gender. Rating in general is normal and both girls and boys did it when I was in school, but the "unrapeable" option is completely unacceptable.

What do you think women would and should do if the government excluded them from support services because of their gender? Why shouldn't men do exactly the same thing now? The law you linked to seem to exclude men who are victims of violence and women who perpetrate violence from statistics. It doesn't seem like it's trying to do anything to minimize gender violence. Something must have gone extremely wrong somewhere for kids to be ranking their classmates "unrapeable". That's absolutely horrific. Obviously doesn't justify misandry, but I hope something is done to help those kids and to protect the other kids from them before it's too late. (Assuming it actually happened.)

I don't think they meant that "benevolent" sexism is literally the worst thing that happens to women. Bering raped or sexually harassed is obviously worse than being treated like a child, but "benevolent" sexism is probably something that only happens to women (I might be wrong, but I can't think of any example of "benevolent" sexism against men), while both men and women are raped and sexually harassed.

Don't judge all women based on the actions of a few. Everyone is an individual and should only be judged on their own actions, not those of others who just happen to share the same gender. Women have done horrible things to me, and while it certainly makes me feel unsafe around women that I don't know, it doesn't justify intentionally treating them differently from men. That would be very unfair to people who haven't done anything wrong.

I think that's just a stereotype, and it's not true in my experience, but that's far from the worst part of OP's comment. You can't deny that it's extremely sexist to say that women are intellectually dishonest and that engaging with them is like arguing with your dog.
