I think this is an important one to read OP. It's understandable how you feel, but how you act in your relationship and whether you get divorced will have much greater effects on your kids and their future relationships than you think. And yes, just because some cute 20-something smiled at you or was a bit too chatty doesn't necessarily mean she's down for a roll in the old hay or would actually run off with you.

Sounds like the peaceful versus harmless distinction. To be peaceful means you are capable of doing violence, but choose not to. If you are not capable of doing violence under any circumstances, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. Possibly even helpless in any moderately tough situation. Better to be peaceful - strong and capable, but choosing not to cause harm without good reason.

Reddit: Racism is bad, mmmkay Also Reddit: Proceeds to stereotype an entire nation of a billion people based on a single story, which turns out to be fabricated

Now that you mention it, it sure is funny how if a guy watches too much porn and masturbates too much and so has difficulty being with an actual woman, then he's a bad dude. But if a woman watches too much porn and masturbates with lifeless toys too much and has trouble having sex with an actual man, then no big deal, it's not her problem at all, it must actually be the guy's fault somehow for not deciphering how to cater to her issues.

I dunno who made this so-called rule, but in my observation, alcohol tolerance varies hugely for a ton of reasons nobody can keep track of. I've known people who pass out after 1 light beer, and people who can knock back shots all night with no apparent effect. Personally, I'd rather ban busybody karens who carry on about "feeling safe".

Did anyone spot this? Austin-Saddington’s defence Emily Cook told the court that her client was in a wheelchair following an “incredibly devastating physical event that has occurred since her offending.” The mother of three found herself wheelchair-dependent after her partner awoke to find her on the floor in February 2024. There's only one sentence about it, but apparently this woman already had a partner/husband and three kids. I wonder what they think about her escapades? I wonder why "Sunday…

All tests have false positives and false negatives. Seems like that would make things messy. False negatives might be corrected with further testing. Maybe. Though what if the couple doesn't have much money? Even if it is later corrected, that's still weeks of suspected infidelity. The pain and mistrust from that might not go away so easily even if the test is later corrected. False positives would seem to defeat the purpose of the whole thing. Probably both of these things would happen much mor…

Yup, this exactly. Young men do stupid stuff sometimes while they're figuring out who they are. That's not news. Somewhere along the way, somebody decided that greek frats were the enemy, so it's national news and constantly repeated any time someone in one screws up or goes too far, and any examples automatically apply to the entire frat, or the entire greek fraternity system. If they're in some other type of organization or not in any organization at all, then meh, nobody cares. It's propagand…

I always found it funny how if you dare to say that feminism seems to have a man-hatred problem, you immediately get lectured by dozens of self-proclaimed feminists about how feminism definitely doesn't hate men and anyone who does actually hate all men isn't a real feminist. However, I have never once seen a feminist lecture another feminist engaging in blatant misandry, like claiming all cases of false accusations of SA are made up, about how they are being misandrists and aren't real feminist…

I do wonder sometimes how many of these "tiktok lesbians" are just kind of fetishizing and man-hating who aren't actually ready for a relationship with another woman, and are probably too awful to be around to be a good partner to anybody really.

The feminist circle-jerking in that thread is a little crazy all right. But I don't think the situation would be all that great for either. I expect the woman would be subject to a regime of baby-maxxing, probably with IVF just to ensure that all the babies are female and have higher odds of twins or triplets. They would probably be induced early, as soon as the babies would probably survive in premature birth care, just to start another pregnancy cycle sooner. This would continue until menopaus…

Oh yeah. The process is the punishment. 6 years with this shit on his record, tens of thousands paid to lawyers, who knows how many hearings, apparently they gathered 20 character witnesses. If this is "winning", count me out.

It's standard pseudoscience tactics. If a study disproves what you want to be true, micro-analyze every detail until you find a reason to reject it, even if you're engaging in freeform unproven speculation yourself. But when it comes to proving what you want to be true, you're free to wildly speculate and make shit up with no scientific backing whatsoever.

Blue collar jobs are underrated. Do something that involves getting dirty, working with your hands, doing physical work. Pays surprisingly well these days, since cars still need to get fixed, bridges need to get built, garbage needs to be picked up, etc, even if it isn't glamorous. Doesn't require 6 college degrees that'll put you in debt for life either. Also zero women. Funny how the whole workplace equality thing only applies to high-status white-collar jobs that involve living in big cities,…

Go to a gym with only free weights, no machines or treadmills or whatever. It'll be more expensive, but it'll be only people who actually care about working out, no "meet market" drama or social media idiots. Which is incidentally at least 95% men.

You do have a point, and I don't blame you for feeling that way. It's pretty off-putting to have someone act like they suspect you're going to attack them when you're just walking to your car. Yet I get the feeling this was a misunderstanding / miscommunication that was allowed to escalate too far. I wasn't there and I didn't see or hear exactly what both of you said and did, so I might be wrong. But I do tend to notice when it feels like I've been walking along with someone I don't know for lon…

Yup it's hate speech. The whole "hate speech" thing got stuck in the 60s and never got updated past the most popular forms of hate at the time. Now the world has moved on, and that's one of the more popular types of hate speech. If someone makes a reasonable argument about a hardship they face and you respond with an insult about something they aren't or can't control, that's hate speech.

I'd say it's only weird if she talks about it, like "Oh my god Tom Cruise made me so hot in that movie, let's fuck!". We're all attracted to various random people we see around us, in person and on screens. It's just natural and involuntary, nothing to get upset about. What's important is that you only satisfy those urges with your partner. At the same time, it's kind of rude to talk about how some other specific person is hotter than your partner or turns you on more. It's best to keep that to …

This exactly. Both have unrealistic beauty standards that are present in most of media. But men's is a lot harder to obtain for the average guy. And feminists only complain about it for women, who mostly just need to not eat like pigs on junk food rather than make powerlifting a second job and take drugs with nasty side effects.

Thanks for saying that. I think part of the reason it's very easy to believe what he said is the proliferation of online dating and especially how quick-swipe apps like Tinder have taken over that world. Seems like now even all of the online things that used to be more focused on writing good and detailed profiles and trying to make personality matches have shifted to be as much like the quick-swipe apps as possible. All of the attention and emphasis is on the here's a picture, swipe left or rig…

Something to that. Feminists love to rant about lack of gender parity in high-status jobs - executives, lawyers, scientists, tech, things that generally involve being paid well, being respected, and incidentally working indoors most of the time. But you'll never see a woman in or hear a peep from feminists about the dirty, dangerous, messy, low-status, low-pay jobs that actually make the modern world function like construction workers, road workers, plumbers, electricians, garbage men, etc.

To me "faked" implies that somebody actively made efforts to deceive law enforcement about what happened in an given incident over and above different interpretations of a situation. As in fabricating evidence, lying about someone's physical location, etc. That's very different from cases where there isn't sufficient evidence to prosecute or convict, or the provable events don't represent a crime. To me, a total of 80% of rape/sexual assault cases reported to be police turning out to not constit…

It isn't really the ex-spouse's fault IMHO. In a divorce, both former partners often hate each other and want to hurt each other. No, the problem is that many courts all too readily grant ex-wives their every wish on visitation rights and child support, regardless of how irrational or malicious they may be. Ex-husbands and wives being vindictive is understandable, but the court is supposed to be the rational, neutral party, sifting through any nonsense that gets thrown at it to find an equitible…

Cool, so can we quote you when we talk about how stupid it is for hot women to complain about being objectified? I don't care much about so-called objectification personally. But it's hard to take "feminists" seriously when they write screeds about how horrible men are for objectifying female olympians, and then post even more objectifying pictures of male olympians 10 seconds later. FWIW, I haven't seen any female olympian pictures that focus that hard on crotch/ass/tits.

Do you have a reference to this California law? I did a few Google searches, and all I found was this bill and references to it in media. It does not make any changes to the legal definition of rape, or even affect the criminal code at all. It amends the education code to direct universities to enact affirmative consent policies, on pain of losing state funds for student financial assistance. So it's still just university policy, not criminal law, and the worst possible consequence is expulsion …

Some do, but they enforce actual laws, not university policies. I'm pretty sure that the described behavior would not be considered a crime under the actual law in any jurisdiction, no matter which genders were involved. The point is that universities keep promoting these policies that do consider this to be the same as rape, at least when a man does it to a woman. Seems just perfect to throw it back on a "feminist" woman who presumably supports these policies. The cops won't care, because it is…
