To achieve the goal weight, the app set the following macros: Calorie limit: 2072 Cals (a -34% deficit because it calculated my TDEE as around 3120 Cals, my TDEE calculation was closer to 2610 Cals.). Net Carbs: 26g Protein: 181 g Fat: 138g Basically, the above follows a 5C/35P/60F High Protein split. This calorie limit and split seem to be working so far. I do have some hunger pains at points but nothing unbearable, which suggests to me that I am in a manageable calorie deficit. I drink black c…

OYS #16 Stats: 38 // 5’11” 232 lbs (-2) // Married 17; Together 20 // 2 kids under 5 Lifts: SL5x5 / BP 215 (Est) / Squat 250 (E) / BB Row 175 (E) / OBP 160 (E) / DLx5 315 (E) Summary: This is the one where I document my ability to stop shoveling calories into my piehole. Fitness / Health: Last OYS, AlphaSprout kindly poured cold water on me on this section. I'd been lazy and hadn't really progressed at all in the last 4 months of OYS. He also told me I was wasting everyone's time with an OYS if …

Fitness / Health: Lifted 4 times and 2 long cycling rides. Continued 18/6 IF schedule. Earlier this week, my weight went up several pounds, putting me off track. Last OYS, it was suggested that I set a weight loss goal wit…

OYS #14 Stats: 38 // 5’11” 236 lbs (no change) // Married 17; Together 20 // 2 kids under 5 Lifts: SL5x5 / BP 205 (Est) / Squat 235 (E) / BB Row 175 (E) / OBP 140 (E) / DLx5 295 (E) Summary: This is the one about small steps on addressing neediness. Fitness / Health: No significant changes here. Continue to lift 3 times a week. I've slacked on the Peleton cycling recently. I wonder if that might be part of why my weight has continued to plateau despite reducing meals and going to a more 18/6 IF …

Now, if you're saying, "I wanted to start asserting myself," then that's doing outwardly the same thing but for a completely different reason, one that's from your frame. The same outward act can have dramatically different effects on you depending on the intention and frame. Part of my thought process was, in fact, the desire to simply assert myself in some small matter. I believed that desire was the anger-phasy "kid playing with dynamite" rationalization. But, I can now see that the desire is…

I appreciate the compliment. But to be fair, I owe a large part of that to you. I only learned how to try to frame my OYS discussions based on watching your OYS Youtube series, including the times you talked about how to frame things. So, there's at least one retard that can learn.

Honestly, I carefully considered whether to say anything on the drive home. On the one hand, I wouldn't be taking immediate action to enforce the boundary. I thought I might seem butthurt and I should apply a "no fucks given" position. But on the other hand, I found the action disrespectful and I did not like the sub-communicated message. I wanted it to stop. I also felt a "no fucks given" position was really just me avoiding conflict. Those later thoughts won out, and for that reason, I decided…

Fitness / Health: As of Sunday, I completed one year of weight loss. I considered how far I've gone and how much further I want to go. In a year, I lost 79 lbs (or 35.8 kg). Navy method says 28% BF, the scale says 30% BF, and Stongur says about 29%. La…

I'm sure you know this, but because I greatly appreciate all that you've down for us MRP autist: If this is something you're heavily considering then set up an LLC in a state favorable for tax reasons (Florida or Texas not Delaware due to woke issues with their LLC rules). Use fictitious entities as members (i.e., two layers of LLCs or LLLCs) to maintain protection for your privacy. Make sure to get comprehensive insurance-using the dummy LLCs or LLLCs--given the risks involved with the various …

I was pointed by SteelSS to evaluate why I do what I do and that I am in my wife’s frame. I did not comment last week but the insight was good. I still do not see clear, but this is what I got: I want to move my marriage to a better state, by changing myself to a better and clear version. And I do expect my wife to follow me. Now, I am aware this is a covert contract, and I do not want to make it explicit, as I have been warned in MRP to “not talk about the fight club”. So there is a sort of hid…

Maybe you are approaching these waters. I appreciate the comment. While it's true that I don't have the butthurt anymore with rejections, I have doubts that I'm at that stage yet. Primarily, it's because I don't believe I'm over the scarcity mindset yet. But, I still have a lot of rejection/fear issues wrapped up with my sex life (or lack thereof), and I still see that my frame is a facade that I'm building behind the scenes. Plus, the 1000-foot rope situation and all. Again, I appreciate the in…

Summary: This is the one where I reflect on regression and then focus on avoiding covert contracts for my anniversary trip. Fitness: Continued to inch back up on weights after the de-load. -Read Atomic Habits -Start When I Say No, I Feel Guilty I don't know much but reverse the order of this reading. WISNIFG is fundamental for a reason. The assertive rights and techniques for setting yourself first are fundamental. Then read or reread NMMNG. Then reread WISNIFG. Then go beyond those readings to the other MRP 101 sidebar. In my research, I haven't seen any newbies (which you treat yourself as) do well with content other than the MRP 101 sidebar. Other than that, I just recently wat…

I love it too. It's really changed how I deal with the day to day grind and the things that usually get me down. I've had to reset, and when I tell myself a version of that self-talk I was able to actually reset to have fun. I'm not sure that it strictly is "frame" but goes to the type of "frame" a guy can adapt. Observing others comments (especially weakandsensitive's/whinemorepleases's various comments), I found the "always have fun" mindset just to work better for my current and desired perso…

Yes, there's definitely a big element of "faking it till you're making it." And its also highlighting all of the positive aspects I do already have. Plus, it's changing my mindset to a glass half-full rather than glass half-empty mindset and not letting any of my own perceived failings to control my future. All of this while just having fun, whatever that looks like. (Also, I owe you and the entire OYS Youtube crew a huge debt for all that time spent going through other nerds' posts. Hearing the…

First, you have no frame (and thus no boundaries). Definitely. I've been fumbling on this and haven't figured this part out. Other than the reference links in your Mystery Method breakdown book (various detailed Frame discussions) and TRM Year 1 article on Frame, are there other good resources for me to read through?

I've been catching a lot of female eyes lately. And the little fat kid with ice cream on his t-shirt deep inside of me fucking revels in it. . . My love of getting eye fucked by chunky soccer moms at the grocery store . . . I'm still mostly in listening mode on OYS. But, I have to ask: Do you actually believe this? Let's be real. I've got similar height/weight metrics to you, and this isn't happening. You're still obese, dude. (So am I.) You're making strides but don't get ahead of yourself.

With the budget, you said she wanted a limit or guideline, which is a great outcome. But it sounds like you went and DEERed it by walking her through the spreadsheet. She was looking for a limit (like a child needs consistent limits) and yet you gave DEER. Yeah, I think you're right and she just wants a limit. And I didn't handle the subtext of her request in a great manner. That is a great point. I am going to reconsider how to handle this financial issue. I've been considering creating separat…

Readily agree that I have years of work to do. I am focusing on the weight above all else while lifting and dieting. That is why I set my current intermediate goal solely on my weight. Still, I want to articulate my ultimate goal to help keep myself accountable.
