Have an upvote. I cringe every time someone on this board talks about how calories-in-calories-out is "all that matters." 2,000 calories of graham crackers has a totally different effect on your body than 2,000 calories of ribeye steaks. Easiest way to cut through the bullshit and keep your diet healthy is to simply shop around the perimeter of the grocery store. Fresh meat, fresh vegetables, etc. If it has an expiration date, it's not good for you. Yeah if you're training hard go ahead and thro…

Some people love the process. I wrestled and played lacrosse all throughout school but what I always really loved was the conditioning, and I still do. Joined the military and found a whole bunch of dudes just like that. Some people actually enjoy pushing themselves to the limit. But it’s cool if you’re not one of them.

Agree with this reaction. It's only an accessory if you're a powerlifter, in which case everything except squats, deads, and bench presses are accessories, or if you're an Oly lifter in which case anything other than snatches and C&Js are accessories. For everyone else -- which I imagine is 99.999% of the people reading this -- the FS should be a core lift done consistently.

You should def learn to swim, for many reasons. But for low-impact conditioning, I find the rowing machine to be superior. If you've never tried it, I'd recommend it. Do some high intensity interval work on there and you'll get a killer full-body workout in less than 20 mins.

So true. A good skin care routine is critical, and sunscreen is the cornerstone of that. Here in Florida, people who don't take care of their skin typically have faces resembling catcher's mitts by age 40. Don't be one of them.

Man I know a few guys like this and they give me hope for the future. I’d add that the guys who really look good at that age take care of themselves in other ways too. The old adage that you can’t out-train a shitty diet becomes more apparent as you hit 35, 40, etc. Even if you hit it hard at the gym, too many pizzas and too many long nights at the bar will just make you look...old.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
