I should add this very important part... I was her 3rd husband and of course they both "cheated on her."

I basically just chose a woman that wasn't on drugs or alcoholic when I got married. I knew it was over before the marriage started but I was 28 and wanted kids. I just wasn't able to find the type of woman I was looking for so I settled for one that would do. At least for a while. She ended it and left me for another man after 16 years of marriage. This was a mistake because I endured 16 years of abuse and now I have Psychological issues with anyone I date including my girlfriend now of 4 years…

People say wait to date but I think in my case dating gave me perspective. I really felt like a loser during and after divorce because that's how my marriage made me feel. I have used dating as validation my entire life as well. Seeking approval from someone was why I was in it. This comes from my childhood because it was my father that first convinced me that I was an idiot that couldn't do anything.

I work as a bailiff in Louisiana. I'm about to go watch a few divorces take place. My divorce was 5 years ago which is about the time I went from working in the jail to my bailiff position. If men would go watch these divorce and custody cases they would never get married! Good luck to you! In time you will see this as the day you got your freedom. Seriously consider not doing it again. Start planning for retirement.

Making good memories for my kids and grandkids is my purpose. There will never be a second wife. I sacrificed 16 year of my life in servitude to a woman and I'm done with that.

So, are you already looking for a 3rd ex wife? I'm a one and done guy. One marriage and one divorce. I'm not doing it again.

50 year old man here. 5 years Post Divorce. I've had probably the best girlfriend that my town has to offer for the past 4 years. However, I will never marry again and I don't forsee wanting to live with a woman. I have a kid that lives with me and one that lives with my Ex. I also have a step son and 2 step grand children that I view as my own. Every other weekend I have my kids and the other weekend I spend time with the girlfriend. However this leaves very little time for any hobbies that I h…

I'm 50 and a I have children and step grand children. I'm not adding more step kids to the mix. When I got married my step son was 5 years old. About the time I raised him and he moved out my ex left me and my children with her were in Jr. High. I will date and have committed relationships but I will never marry again or cohabitate. Peace is priceless.

I let mine go and she came back when I started dating again. I took her back and she left again within a couple weeks. Right back to the guy she left me for. NEVER TAKE THEM BACK!

Yes she will go off and find a man and eventually when those butterflies fade for him she will be regretting it and wanting you back. The grass is never greener on the other side. It's been 5 years since divorce for me. I got a girlfriend that I've been with for 4 years. She's the best girlfriend and partner I've ever had. However, the big problem for the relationship is I will never marry again. I have a mortgage and if I ever say "I do" again then I have nothing to leave for my kids after a di…

You're a good person it appears. Honorable and loyal but that's a hard thing to find in other people.

She shuts down completely when she's mad at me. She's mad at me now in fact. We haven't talked in a couple days. Might be the end of our relationship. I think it's time to take a break from dating for me.

I have been divorced for about 4 years and in a relationship with a girlfriend for 3 years. We don't live together and I'm not sure I want to live with a woman. I'm 49 and I enjoy my peace. Consider all implications of what it might mean for you to get married again! It's not worth it.

I got married at 28. Dealt with this same kind if incidents as you mention here. I slept many nights in my truck and the parking lot at work and friends houses. I stayed for the kids. This went on for 18 years. I'm scared to get married again and have a girlfriend that wants to get married. I don't think I can bring myself to do it again. I'm 49 so what's the point really?

If your friend has children from the other marriage they will be cut out of their inheritance when he dies. The new wife gets everything and her children will he the ones with the inheritance and any benefits he leaves her with. It's been a year... Did he get married?

Something else to consider. I am a single Father raising my son and I have a mortgage on my house. I had to buy the house from the Ex-Wife. So my Ex agreed to me getting the house but she got a strip-mall free and clear that she gets rent from.I have a girlfriend that wants to get married but as soon as I say "I do" the house is now half hers because she will be living here while the mortgage is paid. Once the mortgage is paid off and we live happily ever after and I die, the house is 100% hers …
