to be fair 30k adjusted for inflation in 1950 is 318k today. The average salary then was 3.2k a year. So the man paid 1000% of the average yearly salary. Or the home cost 10% of an average yearly salary. A home in malibu today is around 3.5 million. iirc Jenny didn't turn forest down and call him a loser or a faggot She actively cared for him and wanted the best for him, which is precisely why she always kept him away from her. IIRC she even said shes no good for him and only felt worse seeing him. When hearing that he was going off to war she told him to run, to keep himself safe. She always.cared for him.
