I think the whole women age badly and men age well thing is just something older men perpetuate to make women insecure and make them feel anxious about being “replaced”. The aim is to create some kind of tension between 20,30,40 year old women and what’s sad is sometimes it works. In reality, none of these men are a prize and as a 21 year old I can say we don’t want these older men as much as they try to insinuate we do.
