How many men find that without being top tier?

All very good reasons and I wish I had known more about vetting women and recognizing red flags years ago.

Ideally we want to be both but we know if we don’t have her desire than we will be seen and treated as less.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/10/24 12:06 PM

My selection process for women was shallow in my teens and 20s but later on that broadened and deepened. There has to be a baseline of attractiveness but it also has to be paired with an attraction for her personality and how she thinks. And then if we’re in a relationship, her agreeableness matters. Basically if she acts the type of person that would be a fun and nurturing mother, then she’s a keeper. If she complains, snipes and acts overly neurotic, then my attraction for her plummets.

Daycare and costs associated with commuting soared after COVID-19 so in many ways it makes more sense for one parent to stay at home for the first 4-5 years to be with the kid. Having one parent take the majority of the household running also allows the working parent to worry about home stuff less and channel energy into their career. That arrangement would also allow the sahp to upskill and work on an another degree from home.

That’s your opinion. Most men understand that everyone has preferences. Some of us are just calling out the hypocrisy. If men talk about their physical preferences for women in public someone is going to call them out on it. Women doing the same is just seen as normal.

Are men who are selective about their breast size and figure proportion preferences given the same deference as women who are selective about height and abs?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 06:01 AM

Many are selective with casual dating in their younger years but will settle hard in order to increase resources and not be alone. The problem I and other experienced men have is women who settle and string a man along only because they need someone and fear being alone. These women see men they settle on for LTR through a utilitarian lens and only value men for what the man can provide for them.

Those are valuable but I imagine most people are not consciously aware and judging the genetics of their children as a means of whether to reject them or not. While some studies have shown that parents may favor the more genetically similar child, they don’t outright reject the most genetically distant child unless on similarity alone - assuming the parent is not mentally unstable.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:58 AM

Children and values because they are and not because of how well they do math or how good they are in sports or how much money they will make a parent - at least in the modern west. This is just post hoc rationalization to defend the narrative.

Have you had a child yet or a beloved pet? Most people who have had a child or beloved pet, and who are not sociopaths or monsters, understand unconditional love. Many men do not have it. Many men will turn down an easier life to make things work with a woman no matter what she’s done or how much she makes. Men lose value almost overnight when they lose the ability to provide resources or lose their ability to give her tingles.

This is an accurate perspective. Yet, we’ve all known a few guys who arent that big or tall or bad, but know how to have a good time and buff that with family money and the social capital that comes with that. Looking at pictures of those guys wouldn’t make you think they’re popular let alone popular with ladies, but they can and do. There is more than one formula but some take more luck, work and expense than others. They can all have their moments, but I would wager my money on the cave man wi…

But that statistic for men doesn’t come from the majority of men. It only comes from the men who are actively seeking new partners and who are attractive enough to gain access to easy sex. So if the past studies are correct (citing soon) that means that the statistic is coming from 20-30% of dating age men available.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/23 03:22 AM

What happens when you get married and have a kid and then the wife decides you’re not making enough money or you’re not sexy enough to be attracted to? Yes divorce is an option but sometimes you would rather make something work so that the kid has both parents full contributions . I also wonder if women would rather be miserable than alone — and men would rather be alone than miserable. The site sounds like a twist on seeking arrangements. Perhaps if more women were genuinely attracted to the me…

Glad someone asked this. At the week mark I start questioning my attractiveness and this is probably a form of fomo because I compare myself to the guys on Reddit humble bragging about how their woman just wants to go whenever they see him naked or they wake up to oral sex multiple times a week. So I need it for perspective. For many men like myself, I don’t think the validation of a woman’s attraction is all about sex, but instead it’s on any attention she gives that tells us we are admired and…

This is probably the most honest self-aware response from a female here. No post-hoc rationalization.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/23 03:11 AM

I’m going to read that thread but yes as a straight man this has been my experience. Someone on Reddit told me that we actually should go to therapy to let our problems out (and not dump them out on others) and learn to be more emotionally available- whatever that means.

I started this sub account because of a relationship question. I initially got some sympathy but a few months ago I was put through the ringer by both women and men when I posted concerns in a sub. Even though I didn’t get blamed for my exe’s past behavior, I was called stupid and pathetic for trying to work things out with my ex. If a woman had my post history she would get more encouragement and actual supportive responses. She would not be considered less than.

The question wasn’t why do women fall for men with dark personality traits. The question posed asked why do women marry the guys they don’t give them physical tingles when they think about them. What reasons do women gifs for settling when they know they are not being honest with themselves or the man they choose for comfort? If ruggedly handsome with low key dark personality traits are what find attractive, and nothing less turns them on, then they should wait until they find such a man.

What do you all think? Is this it?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/23 06:19 PM

I appreciate the thoughtful response. Most men however assume that falling in love means that she also wants to consummate that love physically at a consistent frequency. Do men and women have different operational definitions of romantic love? If so, how do they reconcile that?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 06:18 PM
5

What point does your question make? My answer is no. If she is not physically attracted to the guy she should do both of them a favor and politely decline and move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 06:03 PM
1

Do you desire him and initiate physical intimacy? That’s what I’m trying to communicate- desire. The post is not about looking good - but her decision to be with someone she does not desire in a sexual way.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 04:13 PM

I want honesty and a romantic relationship built on actual physical and emotional attraction. If she has to convince herself or “make time” for the physical then she’s not feeling attraction and I would accept moving on. I could have options if I invested the time, but I want this one to work because of our daughter.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 03:34 PM
4

I want women to be honest about their attraction. I didn’t have issues with my current partner early in our relationship but now I do. If the woman doesn’t find me attractive enough to feel some lust, I would rather she just be a friend. She can own it and say it and we can both move on.

“Many women who tell a guy “ I do not love you” or even show it end up being abused/killed.” Do you have any sources that confirm this is more than an unfortunate anecdote?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 03:29 PM

I agree. At some point you have to grow up and become self-aware and acknowledge and own what you want.

Big reach. I never considered marrying all my friends that I love in a platonic and respect way.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 03:14 PM
11

I feel that way now. I didn’t before when we first met and later when we half dated hooked up. As soon as I forsake other options and also stopped lifting and cardio 5 days a week, I lost my power of attraction. I’m less defined, but not overweight but by maybe 5 lbs. She will deny all day long that I’m not less attractive but I know that’s part of why we’re lucky to even get 1x a week in.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 05:25 AM

Sort of like a post hoc rationalization for the guys they dated in the past and the guys their cultural compass tells them they should like?

Many couples that married younger than 25 and also looked good at that time, rode the wave of the “halo effect”. Even if their looks deteriorate somewhat over time, the halo effect keeps the bond going.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 05:18 AM

Yes because it removes all ambiguity. Men are told to be bold and assertive but only when you joke it’s the exact right time. Many men have found that the smallest things alter a female’s attraction for you if you’re not above average and competent. If the social norm became women making the first move and men accepted waiting, far fewer women would complain about unwanted attention and fewer women wwho Ike complain of nice guy friends who all of the sudden caught feels.

A woman who isn’t agreeable is a red flag for me. To me high agreeableness means she will care for her family first and be a good mother.

If women are virtuous, faithful, and agreeable, they get positive credit for that. Your post set up a really huge strawman.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 10:54 PM

Why? She’s not more exhausted than the rest of the populace who works 8-5ish. Sure, I work remote 98% of the time and she commutes 10-15 miles, but I probably do at least half the household duties and some days more. Yet, I still am attracted to her and want to do something most every night unless I’m extremely exhausted - like after a full day of exercise or moving.

Agree 💯 Excellent perspective, especially hi-lighting the fact that sometimes one partner needs to take more of the domestic load when the other one is positing themselves for more opportunities and angling for a promotion or better job and salary.

This hit me in the feels except we started out 15 years ago with high mutual attraction. Balanced attraction was good the first 1-2 years, then I got focused on trying to remake myself and career. We went through a period of hard times with job search/career problems 9-7.5 years ago and at that time I grew less interested while she was still interested in intimacy several times a week. Then prologue and postlude of divorce for about 3 years. We started growing closer about 2-3 years ago but then…

I’m dealing with a mismatch right now where I would want it 1-2 times a day if time permits but it’s been about 10 days and she doesn’t seem urgent about it. If you don’t think about getting physical with your partner, and you think it’s fine but your partner feels needs aren’t met, just leave and accept the responsibility of ending the relationship.

Male (40s) and probably 5-7 times a week. Right now I’m getting about 1-3 times a week of the schedule is not busy and no one has a cold or strep. Self-improvement is the only choice we have besides going your own way and forsaking it all. The same dual standard also exists for addressing attraction problems in established relationships. I read an article a month ago or so about Pierce Brosnan and his wife. She has gained a lot of weight and he was saying that she loves her as she is. Almost every relationship advice centered on women tells the woman that her significant other should accept her as she is ‘now’. On the other hand, when men …

Her getting irritated at small things eventually turns into her recoiling from you when you hug or try to kiss her. At that point very little can be done to talk her back. Talk and therapy only works to bring men back to the relationship with their wife. I sincerely doubt, talking it out or going to therapy will change a woman’s mind once she is no longer pair bonded to the pet she’s rejecting.

They don’t. I saw my female friend’s bumble. None of the guys were remotely overweight. And besides. A dad bod in no way compares to stage 1 obesity.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/22 11:43 PM
1

That’s your anecdote. Most men here are talking about the aggregate reality - the long term average or mode of experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 10:22 PM
1

Most women here don’t understand how men experience this differential between being selected and settled for vs truly being the object of desire. We all know that women have sex drives comparable to male sex drives, so when she is not initiating or only doing it for emergency relief, you’re not truly desired.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 10:20 PM
1

Men have more pressure because they have to have the total package of looks, success and charm. Women really just need average looks, to not be obese, and be easy going. Men need to be more fit on average than women due to body fat distribution and how more softness is acceptable in women but in men it’s game over if you’re not tall and handsome.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/22 10:14 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/22 06:50 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/22 06:45 PM

False premises. No one is saying women need to give up pity sex. Most lower tier men just want acknowledgement that the top 10% of men and the top 50% of women have a far easier time getting sexual attention.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/22 11:39 AM
3

No one is asking for any of that. Most guys here and probably other places just want women to acknowledge that they have it easier than the bottom 80% of men when it comes to finding partners. Keeping commitment is another matter I agree but most women don’t drive men away if they are in reasonably decent shape and are not bitter and wet blanket personality people.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/22 04:12 AM
1

I wrote “most men” because most men here and those I know in real life have expressed this sentiment. They view sex as the truest intimacy. Frequent sex is how they know their partner truly desires them. Very few self and world aware men would prefer to be the “good husband material” guy over the guy his partner desires. Ideally we want to be both but if we had to choose, we prefer to be desired over “appreciated” for being a “good guy”.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 12:26 PM
1

Yo. Sure some men may have been genetically blessed with height and maybe a handsome face and good hair all at once. But no one who has a hard body with defined muscles is living an easier life. The “just lift” approach takes work but pays off and compounds interest if you keep good habits.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 12:14 PM

And men are bad and should be left if women are getting the sec life they want? I see this advice given to women all the time in discussion groups but men who are not feeling sexually valued are told to shut up and deal with it. Men who would act on the same advice given women (get a side or leave) are shamed and vilified.

Because sex is how most attached men know they are truly valued and loved. I’m close to getting back with my ex but the frequency of sex has dropped to about once every 6-10 days and mostly occurs when I mention something about it. She has initiated it, said let’s do it maybe once a month. Despite being in my 40s I have a high libido and am up for sex more like 1-2 times a day or maybe more on the weekends. Agreed. Men who indiscriminately sleep around and wreck marriages are just as bad as women who do the same. But there is a common denominator - those men and the taken women who sleep with them. I’m willing to bet that there are more women in long-term relationships or marriage that have side pieces that go undiscovered and are probably sanctioned and approved by their close friends then men who cheat. Yep. And many women still wonder why many men don’t see marriage juice to be worth the squeeze to get it. If it’s not “hell yes” assume it’s “hell no” and move on.

I imagine most people would want to see stability and improvement. In my experience as a male of 40+ years of lived experience women select based on different needs. Most women (under 40 that I’ve known about) don’t have high moral or intellectual standards for the male they consider hot, sexy and charismatic - and they are in a hook up situation. If they are looking for a safe relationship with a likeable but otherwise average guy, then those high standards for education, morals and career suddenly are important.

Great username. I suspect I’m a high functioning autistic adult that missed the expansion in identification (I’m in my 40s) in the 90s and 2000s. It would explain why I had no problem with initial attraction in my teens through before COVID but many times the girl/woman would sometimes just do a 180 after spending some time talking to me. I was simply a Chad-lite (when I cared enough) that was socially awkward and not good at reading social or non-verbal cues in the moment, but I could identify …

Agreed. Don’t talk to her like a friend if you want more. Now sometimes you can start out talking to them as a friend and something happens later but it’s very hard to migrate from the friend category once you’re there.

It’s not as simple as that. Many women are masters at covering up side piece indiscretions — and then gaslight the guy into thinking he’s unreasonable when he suspects something’s up. He, probably like me has probably been cheated on by someone close who pretended to be the picture of faith and virtue.

Seriously, it’s like they intentionally put blinders on and say this kind of thing doesn’t happen frequently. I’ve been on both sides of the equation. At least once I was “the friend” but the other guy and she (22-23 at the time) was more pursuing me and took me out on the trail to have sex - weeks before her marriage (that later was annulled). Then I had a significant other disappear on me for almost an hour at her friend’s brother’s wedding and now I’m certain she was hanging out with some guy…

It’s not better but expected. If you’re a man and you choose something creative and low wage then you’re viewed as lesser by even the most progressive out there. If you’re a woman and you choose something fun instead of something practical with a career trajectory, you’re still very valuable to many men and you’re family does t look down on you so long as you live clean and drug free.

And people are telling me that Johnny Depp could have walked away from AH at anytime which implies that as a wealthy man he’s supposed to be strong enough to forget his heart and man up. You will likely see a lot of women say that they know they can get sec but they just can’t find commitment. I don’t think that holds water either if you look at who they are shooting for and not getting commitments from.

The reason why men tend to overestimate their competence and other assets is because they literally have to in order to be competitive and survive. Women will never understand that. For ost women, a graduate degree or better job is a personal pursuit and not a survival pursuit.

I feel like in this day and age in the west prenups should be standard for any divorce it should only be an exception when one party is extremely poor and could not manage to support themselves.

Many women indeed are able to cover up the crazy histeric side until they believe they have you safely convinced. I’ve been there and am still there but divorced am only because my daughter needs another safe adult around. I should have walked away and my then future brother-in-law without blaming her suggested I walk away before the marriage. We had some sort of disagreement that was minor and I have no idea what it was but she moved like she was going to punch me then pushed me and I told her …

Some people really do look good without surgery you know. I mostly am talking about people I have personally met and knew and not about influencers. I follow a couple of female musicians and cosplayers but I view their images and displays as fantasy - cartoons maybe.

It’s not exclusive to them but they are the most susceptible and they can be saved years of heartache and self doubt if they take the reigns of their own life and learn their self worth and self respect.

Eventually Chad gets roped in. I’ve posted here a lot in the past week. I’ve commented here a lot in the past week but basically I’m kind of beyond this stage but consider these topics relevant for guys in their teens and 20s who are dealing with manipulation and gaslighting so I chime in to support them. I consider myself somewhere in the middle. I’ve had a decent enough foundation to not be lossless and sexless, but I have never had the Chad and Tyrone experience with women above a 6 on the lo…

Lol ok. If I felt safe that she wouldn’t get disgusted and ghost and I found her agreeable and fun love, I would have no problem doting on her

That’s the point! The women will always want sex with Chad and Tyrone but then expect their plan b provider guy to provide security and validation for her but be okay with her not wanting to have sex but once every couple of weeks. Many average less genetically gifted avenge but good provider and good dad men are waking up and opting out of that deal.

It’s not about the specific act. The issue is the willingness, eagerness and frequency with which she felt that way towards the Chad ex. I’ve had female friends and I’ve heard most of them talk about some mythical horse hung guy they knew and some knew women shared. So in some cases these young women had guys they slept with in all sort of situations and places and with great frequency. What most men don’t want is to be the safety plan guy that has to impress and almost beg to get her interested…

I completely agree. However it all depends on the amount of effort someone’s willing to put in. Guys like Frank Grillo, albeit he is a celebrity, put time and effort and probably money into her luxe and get a lot of mileage out of it. Frank Grillo is in his 50s yet looks better than most guys in their 40s threes and even 20s. Live clean and strong.

You’re asking one thing and then getting very different examples. Personally I would prefer to be part of a two earner household and that’s just for security’s sake. I’ve never judged women on their income or their job, but I have looked negatively on women who do not want to progress and work on some kind of goal or pursuit. Where it concerns being agreeable I expect that anyway regardless of whether she was agreeable with her ex. I prefer the same willingness and openness to sex that she gave …

You just walked through the dual mating strategy. The issue most average men have is they are less and less interested in being the stable provider settled for rationalized choice.

Older Henry Cavill looks better than younger Henry Cavill. Some people up their fitness and lifestyle game and stay looking good for longer than their early 20s. But otherwise people who don’t put in effort will look better when younger.

If women have the same sexual attraction towards their new choices when they mature as they did when they were younger then it’s legitimate changing of what drives her. Where this derails is when it’s obvious she still has the instant hots for bad boy Chads and uses a different selection and intentionally chooses the doctor because he will be a good provider but otherwise she doesn’t get instantly turned on thinking about him. Edit: typos

Not if he’s tall, has a nice masculine face and has defined musculature. If he’s only average or in the company of other Chads, then he will need status to stand out.

Modern OLD mobile apps are probably the main driver. Dating sites have been around almost as long as the internet but quick swipe apps like Tinder were the game changer for easy hookups. Maybe more Chads are happy to stay single and surf the smorgasbord of offerings below them when in past years even Chad was pressured to settle down earlier.

Once upon a time I heard “Well you’re the one I come home to”. That did not inspire confidence. Men want to be treated like kings and desired and reciprocally women understandably want to be treated like queens and longed for by their partners.

Agreed. Attitude is key. I notice that my attraction for my ex I'm still seeing occasionally fluctuates with her attitude and agreeableness. When she is acting vigilant and super stressed about normal every day life stuff like work schedules and preparing meals (not for me but for our daughter) - and then starts spiraling into more negativity, my initial sympathy turns to repulsion after a while. I accept that taking care of home matters isn't always fun but its something that you just do. You g…
