I met him through an older friend who was his step aunty in a way. I nearly had to fight two women who cornered him once and he has been assaulted by other women, it happens rarely but makes him uncomfortable.

This is a good thing, you’re effectively weeding out the sex obsessed fucktards.

Stop winding yourself up, you were groomed by older men. Any man of value will be understanding of this and be willing to support you. This will not stop you from finding love.

I was done with approaching men because it seemed like they just saw that as an opportunity to bang, and thought if he really does like me for who I am, he will approach me. Then he did. He chose me and I reciprocated.

Some are traumatised and would trade it though. It’s just my personal opinion that I see it as annoyance, and I have several issues that dampen my fear response. I don’t want to judge any women who would make a different decision, I just don’t think it’s fair.

No I wouldn’t, honestly. It sucks but I’d rather have it along with my boyfriend making the effort for me. The answers surprise me. I’ve always felt it was more annoying than scary.

Maybe if we stopped treating teenagers like children, they would know all this by 18.

People are always learning. Reaching 18 doesn’t mean you’ve stopped learning, and part of being that age is learning about what is toxic and what isn’t through trial and error. So no, I won’t unfairly judge them for being led on or hurt by deceptive people.

How is it a young girls fault??? If she’s in her 30s and still not learned, then maybe she’s partially at fault for allowing that treatment repeatedly and not learning. But how is it a 18-19yos fault when a 25yo is lying about wanting a relationship to sleep with her? That’s a weird take your grandma had.

I was told not to be promiscuous because men will view me as a sex object instead of relationship material. I’ve always followed that advice. However, I still encountered men who viewed me as a sex object and lied to me to have sex. However, I did also land a good man at 19 who I am still with years later, who has the same values as me and didn’t just try and pursue sex. Many men will view you sexually just by default because it used to be encouraged (and now is discouraged, so I’m hopeful for c…

???? What even is this take? You can still cuddle with a guy who just wants sex and watch a movie with him? That’s not the point. Also women do want sex, we just want it with someone who doesn’t just want sex on its own. Most of us want it with a genuine connection, and that can’t work if it’s one sided. What you are describing is more of a FWB situation than a relationship, and those are almost always disasters. This whole post just sounds like you’ve never been in love.

You knowingly chose a toxic situation (no judgement, I think we’ve all been there at some point and it’s part of learning), and I think you know it. It’s not that men won’t appreciate you, you just need to learn what qualities good men have and how to spot toxicity.

I’ve not necessarily been ghosted, but I’ve been strung along before. Guy would pretend he wanted a relationship, actually wanted a FWB, continued what he was doing, felt soooo guilty about it (aw boo hoo 😢), and he got his head in a bit of a mess. This has happened twice. I’ve never been ghosted just after sex. I think that guys do this because they are taught early on that it is just acceptable typical male behaviour, and ghosting occurs because they didn’t like someone’s company very much.

I did that. A few times. Usually it results in him saying I’ve nothing to worry about and I can’t get rid of him, and that he knows his temper is bad but I shouldn’t take it personally, then repeats the pattern. I think he’s aggro because of my certain repeated behaviours that I struggle with, such as sleeping too much or not hearing him, and the repetitiveness drives me insane. Like his repeated behaviours drive me insane.

Thank you! Oh but he’s fully aware of it, and also completely remorseful at times. He genuinely does go out of his way to be good. But can’t control his temper. I am definitely going to disengage like others suggest.

Nah, I’ll judge fuckboys just as harshly, and fuck no, women do not cause more emotional pain than men do. It’s just that they have better support networks while men are expected to deal with it themselves, so less likely to resort to that.

I was initially attracted to an ex, but that quickly wore off due to bad breath and increasing weirdness. I mean being pretentious to impress me kind of weirdness. Even I don’t care about slut shaming as a woman. I would define a slut as anyone who puts their need for sex before people’s well-being on a frequent basis, e.g leading on multiple people while sleeping with others, cheating, homewrecking, multiple partners a week/spreading STIs etc. And men are actually terrible for this as well, and they do get shamed, they get called fuckboys. It is not just someone who has sex. I very rarely see people shamed just because they have sex. I commonly see people…

I know I’m here a little late, I just found this sub and was scrolling, but don’t change your humour to please a hypothetical partner you haven’t met yet. Lots of men love dark humour and sarcasm. Lots of men like women with that edge to their humour, some even prefer it.

Yes, men and women can be just friends. It’s not uncommon for there to be orbiters. You don’t avoid making friends with them without cutting yourself off from some potentially good bonds with people. Sounds like your coworker has a thing for you, and I think he’s behaving inappropriately considering you are in a relationship. Sometimes, it helps to just say “I don’t really like that, let’s maybe tone it down.” As a polite way of setting a boundary, and don’t be afraid to be rude if they ignore y…

Start with raising kids right. Be kind and attentive to them, so that they don’t grow up with anxious or avoidant attachment styles. Over sexualising everything in the media needs to be overturned. Stop glamourising hookup culture in the media. Stop normalising dating multiple people at once (I feel like this is more common in some places than others, where I live you’ll get some odd looks and judgement, but in other places where younger generations are more influenced by American media it’s mor…

Every now and then. Roughly once a month someone will make an inappropriate comment. It’s annoying but it’s not constant, nor is it super traumatising. It was at its worst when I was 15 and used to receive a lot of horrible messages from creepy older dudes online. That was constant, and over time made me sick and anxious.

I think she’s either very busy or just lost interest. I suggest seeing how she is after she’s completed her finals, it’s only three more weeks right? And if she’s still cold then leave. However, I also understand not wanting to put up with coldness at times where you are both super busy. I know I’ve never ever treated my boyfriend that way even when I was working full time and studying. It’s possible to find balance.

When you know someone and spend a significant amount of time with someone, the signs present themselves in subtle ways. However, many people choose to ignore them because they’re told that anything other than blindly trusting their partner is “toxic”, and also if they’re in love, they’ll try and overlook any odd signs.

As a woman, I disagree with you and think it matters. It’s not just women who are criticised. Women may look at a man’s body count and decide he’s a player. Men should be allowed to do the same. I don’t want to just be someone’s next piece of meat because they can’t settle down. Sex negativity? I also see decent looking guys failing to attract women because they are rude to them. Not always on purpose either, just because they haven’t developed their social skills. How far removed from reality are you and some people on this sub? Do y’all even go outside? AI will not compete with women because most men who are average or above can get women. The statement about breakups is correct. I have been through a lot of them because I was young, naive, picked the wrong partners, and holy hell did I put myself through some unnecessary bullshit, all because of this agenda that modern media is pushing saying you must always be as sexual as possible and don’t you dare tell someone about the risks because that’s “slut shaming.” However, a smaller handful of breakup experiences can build character, I believe. I don’t feel any sympathy for people who cheat and then complain that their partner snooped on their phone. None whatsoever. However, snooping when you don’t have any evidence to justify it (if you’re married then evidence is useful in court, and again, if you’re 90% certain and snooped for closure, the cheater doesn’t have my sympathy), is a slippery slope into emotional abuse. I would instead advocate transparency with your partner. Share where you’re going and who you’re with, and expect the …

Yeah, that’s my problem with dating apps. Because it’s an app to meet people to date, it places the expectation on people to just start dating who they meet there, without taking the time to get to know them, so it’s common for people to date the wrong people, and you end up with weirdos, people who already have partners and are hiding it, people who hide their true intentions, etc. A bit toxic if you ask me.

One woman went as far as to kiss my SO when he was asleep. He wasn’t happy about it and I definitely wasn’t either. I have a friend who I keep at arms length because I know she’s slept with married men and says overly sexual things to both of us, but she’s still good company so I hang out with her but with boundaries in place. I don’t trust the vast majority of my gender tbh.

Then pre-plan your insults! What don’t you like about them? What responses can you think of beforehand to something they may say?

If they’re being this disrespectful, point out why you wouldn’t date them every time they get pushy. “No John, I couldn’t kiss you with that beard, I wonder how much bacteria is in it? Are there any cornflakes in it from last year?” Or “when you getting that unibrow sorted out?” If they won’t accept a no, maybe they’ll accept truly being unwanted from a verbal sense. They’ll stop because it will chip away at their ego and they won’t enjoy it.

It’s less organic and more strategic and business like, because of dating apps and the rise of this “no one owes you anything so I can use people and still be TeChNiCaLlY in the right” crap. Men are taught that they’re a “Chad” if they play lots of women, and women become hurt, then they start joining groups like FDS and having a negative view on men. I’ll admit, if it weren’t for my boyfriend, who is an angel, I would also be in this category by now because of how many dumbass, hurtful men I’ve…

Surprisingly, a couple of the average guys were fuckboys!! For me it’s always been average is ok if your personality is good and you’re not uggo. But attractive is preferable. That’s just the way it’s been with me.

A good personality, a good composition of that is humour, is sexy. An attractive person with a bland personality is just bland. An average person with a good personality and sense of humour is better. Luckily, I managed to find a 10/10 who has great humour! That combo is the best. But I was attracted to average dudes in the past because their personality stood out and I became attracted to them over time.

With infertility on the rise and humans slowly evolving to have more narrow pelvis, making it more difficult to give birth than mammals, along with the complications you mentioned, just makes me think nope. The planet doesn’t need even more of us. But it’s aggravating how men will try and pick apart everything; if she chooses to have kids (we still need some births, just less), she’s wrecking her body. That’s actually always been my preference! I’m no longer in the dating game because I’ve been in a healthy relationship for years, but back in the dating days I hated it with a passion when dudes would just try to fuck. Women aren’t walking fleshlights, and I preferred men who just wanted to actually get to know me. Also if someone gives you shit for not wanting sex, that’s entitlement, a red flag, and you can walk away.

When people go on about alpha and beta and whatnot I fucking roll my eyes. Women definitely don’t want blokes who post “I’m an alpha” on Reddit, and the reason they’re getting women in the first place is because they’re attractive on the surface, but then the woman realises he’s actually a bit brain dead and emotionally immature, moves on, then the next woman comes along because he’s attractive and outgoing on the surface, rinse and repeat, giving him the false illusion that he’s an “alpha”. The point is that people, not just men to women, will use other people for sex and lie about their intentions to get laid. Sometimes they’ll say they want a relationship when they want a FWB, and keep the person around longer than a pump and dump. It’s the lying and the using.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/21 01:08 PM

Some of them act douchey which puts women off them, and others are ok but don’t reach out to women because they’re too busy with their own hobbies.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/21 09:05 PM

I’m a bit confused by this sentence and it’s phrasing. Could you rephrase what you mean, please?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/21 04:06 PM

Because a lot of them are pushed down and look for an outlet to shout at someone else because of built up rage over time. Been there, but for more personal reasons that weren’t related to gender, but I still understand it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/21 03:48 PM

It does last if you treat the relationship well. Always plan stuff together, have regular good sex where you actually listen to what your partner wants, be open, but don’t bend to their every whim or you’ll be taken for granted eventually. Don’t get in a rut. People get into ruts where it’s come home from work, do house jobs, then watch football while wifey cooks dinner while growing more and more resentful while Breighdonne and Keighdonne are running around and you don’t get quality couple time…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/21 03:46 PM

They do that because of their attachment style. If they had an upbringing where the parents were on and off with their affection and general attitude, this can create an anxious attachment style and women may go for men like that as a result.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/21 03:43 PM

Most of us find that disgusting. Sorry you had to deal with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/21 03:41 PM

Once it was because I was emotionally neglected, I thought it was normal, but then through my own way I learned it wasn’t normal and that I deserved better, and lost attraction shortly after. Another time it was because I was so scarred from a breakup, my mind blanked my feelings because I was scared I’d never get over it, and I thought my basic attraction was a bond when it wasn’t. So the attraction faded, and I left. I then briefly experienced attraction for someone else, but that faded within…

Me and my bf just dated each other and no one else, some girl before me tried to pull similar shit to this and he ended it with her. It is shameful behaviour and I’m glad it’s less common where I live, and I feel like the foundation of our relationship is stronger because we were just focused on each other from the very beginning. But someone might have a high n count from failed relationships they had as a teenager or early twenties, while they learned, because young people aren’t exactly known for choosing the right person the first few times around. If they’re in their 40s and have a stretch of failed one month relationships 7 times a year, then yeah avoid.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/21 01:02 PM

N count is irrelevant, it’s how the n count came to be. If a man has a high n count from numerous different hookups, it’s a turn off because you don’t know how many of those women he manipulated into thinking he wanted something more, it shows he likely won’t commit and you’re his next piece of meat. Even if the man’s n count is low, if it’s from hookups be aware. I’ve known men with n counts of just 2 or 4 who manipulated women. However, some men have higher n counts but they were from numerous…

UK, 25F. It can vary wherever you go. One thing I’ve learned is that unlike the US, if two people are dating, it’s considered unacceptable to sleep around before you commit to them. If you’re dating, it’s assumed you’re an item. Due to Tinder and American media, some Brits too take up an Americanised version of dating where they’ll date numerous people at once, but this is more common in city areas and most people still look down on it (thankfully, it’s nothing but an absolute mess when people d…

Because as much as society denies it and wants to push an individualistic agenda, people need love. Even women can become depressed (but less so because some women find themselves happier because they’re taught by society to be the responsible ones and end up taking care of men, but this doesn’t mean they can’t feel sad for not being in a relationship). This is ridiculous because you can’t predict life. Marriages can fall apart after 15 years and your kids get caught up in it, is that more stable than just having your parents living separately in the first place? Basically the relationship I have now. Partner in crime, go for lots of hikes together, movie nights, smoke together, absolutely no kids ever, more adventure/building each other up focused.

Form friendships first to establish that trust, I’ve learned that dating people you don’t know from a dating app and expecting a good outcome is just stupid. Also when you do date someone, pay attention to how they want to spend time with you; my partner suggested fire poi at 6pm, not “come to my place” at 3am. Ditch if they immediately try to sleep with you without knowing you properly.

I don’t want to be alone. Nothing beats having that one person you can share everything with. Being alone is superior to being in bad company, and I think people are finding solitude preferable to being with shit people around them.

I’m in a great relationship now, but in the past, men were so shitty about lying about having feelings to get sex. Fucking sleazebags.

Same. Me and my partner never had the “exclusivity” conversation, we just were exclusive pretty much very quickly. That’s normal for me but Reddit is an odd place with odd ideals.

What kind of idiots are y’all marrying to get these results?

People who view relationships that way are gonna end up alone.

If you’re dating someone for months, it’s implied you’re a thing by then. They should tell you if they’re still seeing other people. It’s cheating.

There are different types of cheaters and cheating. There are ones who deliberately start and continue affairs, ones who do it to escape abuse (I can forgive those ones), cowards, selfish people, and people who try to make a relationship work because they were brought up to never quit easily and then they just happen to fall in love with someone else. Each case is different. Some cheaters are nasty af, some aren’t so bad.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
