Yeah, but I don't volunteer to meet high school chicks...

Affable Ex number two checking in, I guess. I'm still friends to varying degrees with all of my exes.

It's literally what you're supposed to be doing there. Most cashiers don't really care because they don't really want the job; they just need a paycheck, and they do the minimum required to keep it.

They don't like each other; they're both brats. But neither of them is in the relationship for personality because she doesn't have the time for a deep relationship, and he basically just wants a hot lay that he can show off. They party, they go places now and then, and they spend nights together; they don't have any illusion that it's anything more than a temporary, opportunistic relationship. It's shallow and superficial, and that's totally fine.
/r/seduction13/01/14 10:17 PM

And my whole point is that that's fine. :P (Also he's bi, so there's hope yet!)

That's fine, but it's not what you've been saying. You've been arguing that wanting a rich partner is wrong, and trying to tell people how relationships "should" work. I'm saying that it's fine, regardless of which sex wants it. I wouldn't date someone who wanted me for my money, but I'm not going to pass moral judgment on them either.

I have a friend in medical school. She wants a rich boyfriend, because she's already a couple hundred grand in debt and doesn't want to worry about money. Her boyfriend is a petulant manchild who owns a business; he wants someone hot, smart, and who won't "dump their emotional shit on me" in his words. They're very happy together because they're fulfilling each others' needs and have no delusions about what their relationship is about. Whose business is it but theirs that they're "using" each ot…

Yes, I am, because people are free to decide their own relationships, and the world isn't as black and white as you want it to be. Some people are totally fine with being the rich one who pays for everything, and don't care if their partner is "using" them. Feel free to "not even argue" if you like; it's easy to stop arguing when you have no argument.

Did I say that? Um... yes? You're telling everyone how relationships should work, like you're the relationship judge. Some people prefer to base their relationships on money, sex, or any number of other things that aren't your preference. If I want a rich partner, that's entirely my business.

I think "brown nosing" would be a better term than "people-pleasing". They're not pleasing people, they're just sucking up to them.

Reread your comment, but pretend it was written by a girl. Maybe she never found anybody attracted to her because they just never had the stones to walk up to her and have a basic social interaction.

I was going for an equivalent to "gentlemanship"; if the behavior shown by a gentleman is gentlemanship, then the behavior shown by a lady is...? I dunno, I think "class" works best for male or female. "Gentlemanship" itself is kind of a mouthful.
/r/seduction14/02/13 08:27 PM

What is the female equivalent of gentlemanship? I think "class" would probably be the best... it's kind of a unisex term, but "gentlewomanship" just gets verbally cumbersome.

Small edit: the word is "rapport", not "repor".

I believe OKCupid mentioned something similar in their blog. Attractive women don't get a lot of messages sent their way, presumably because they're viewed as "out of my league" by most of the male users.

Yes, but how? C'mon, it's like you're not even listening!

I think in those cases the woman is generally blamed for the cheating. You're not cheating on her boyfriend; she is. You just used what you know to make yourself more attractive. Mileage may vary from FR to FR, though.

"you look doesn't matter" Is that really a general attitude around here? I feel like some of the most basic pieces of advice around here are "go to the gym" and "learn how to dress" so that you look better.

Think about it. What's wrong about being a white knight? It just means you have proper morals. No it doesn't. It means you think women deserve more respect for no particular reason. It makes you a sexist, not a "knight".
/r/seduction01/08/12 10:32 PM

The term white knight is a derogatory term for someone who has more morals than you. Think about that for a second. No, it's a derogatory term for someone who thinks he has more morals, when he doesn't. Acting like women deserve more courtesy than men just because they have an extra X chromosome isn't moral, and giving her everything she asks for doesn't make you some kind of champion.

So... the entirety of the "sympathy method" is: Be awkward. A girl takes pity on you, and a sequence of events completely out of your control make you seem endearing. It's not a method as much as a personality disorder mixed with luck.
