This isn't a red herring... this is a complete refutation of the stupid stuff that Peterson spouts. He says that a man is "not good" if they are harmless. Lemme break down the logic for you: ~A man cannot be good if he is harmless. ~A man can only be good if he has the potential for violence, but refrains from using it. Do you realize how stupid this is? If I am only good if I have the potential for violence, but also only if I refrain from using it, then that is the equivalent to being harmless…

No, Jesus was a strong man. So, your definition of a 'strong man' is merely someone who has principles? Okay, well that completely goes against Peterson's definition of a strong man being a "dangerous man." I guess I'm not surprised that you immediately disagree with the guy who you quoted in this post.

And yet, this guy Peterson is a Christian. He follows a man, Jesus, who was not dangerous whatsoever, and instead preached nonviolence and love. How exactly do people come to think of Jordan Peterson as an intelligent person? This is a serious question.

He asked God to forgive those that persecuted and killed him. He said that the meek will inherit the Earth. He said that the kingdom of God belongs to the poor. No, it's not appropriate at all. Gatekeeping is mostly satire about how people try to police their little groups by disqualifying others based on ridiculous standards. The comment by /u/forevertomorrowagain was pointing out how these criminals express large amounts of sadness because they feel like they are being fucked over, but they can't seem to have a single ounce of that emotion for the people they are fucking over. Those are the two parts of the 1st amendment. One is called the Establishment Clause and the other is the Free Exercise Clause. Covers freedom of speech, no endorsement of religion, peaceable assembly, and freedom of the press.

Hillary Clinton is right wing. Maybe not the deep end, but still quite the opposite of a truly progressive (and therefor left) candidate. If anything, the title aims to make a prediction on the future of the political climate. That's not paranoia, that's as commonplace as it comes when discussing politics. People make their entire living doing this.

The last article I read about this attributed the phenomenon to the work culture primarily. Basically, the Japanese work culture promotes self sacrifice to the company so much so, that they work very long work days.
